There weren't any physicals and the promo was minimal so I was not even expecting it to crack the Top 30  
But it did. Albeit at 27, but that's a pretty good spot for a song that wasn't pushed that much on release. 

I'm just not sure what they're aiming for this era, and I don't want to delude myself into thinking her team is cooking something up in terms of promo, but I'm enjoying the music so I won't let that ruin the experience.

i think theyll do hints and subtle promos/interviews for the rest of the year as we are approaching Christmas (no one really cares for music unless its xmas music)

Sorry, but why are we suddenly looking for valid points why we should have expected this? Gaga is the #3 on Spotify, one of the biggest names in the world, and her first lead single in almost 5 years cant even manage to debut in the top 10. And don’t start the “oh but the song is not GP friendly”. Judas and BM arent either. And even SL and PI debuted higher. I hope Gagas team has a plan, because why was there no promo? No physicals? No performances? 
 

And the fact DWAS didnt go #1 even with the Taylor Swift strategy of variants is embarrassing…

The fact she chose to do a Zane Lowe interview for Harlequin but not for Disease (at least for now, since she hinted she would meet him again soon) shines light on your opinion: she simply wanted to do things this way.

Maybe she sees it as a Halloween gift, maybe she wants to talk about the album as a whole body of work when the time comes and can't say much now or maybe she's just enjoying her time with Michael.

What she made pretty clear to us is that she's happier now and feels more passionate about music. I'd rather have this Gaga than the miserable one jumping between promo schedules. That's the perk of being well-established.

 In my opinion they should stick to the original vision. If Gaga cared about it being a massive smash hit she wouldn’t have put out DWAS, Harlequin/Joker and Disease so close back to back you know? It’s about her vision and her art, I’d hate if she postponed and changed the era just for some measly streams, what’s the point?

As much as I want to disagree with Twitter, Gaga being #3 on Spotify is because of DWAS being a hit, not necessarily from people who actively listen to all of her Spotify catalogue. Judas and BM resurfaced as a result of time and trends. Nowadays you either promote your songs for them to chart or rely on luck by waiting for a  TikTok trend to happen, which sadly can't be forced.

Well, it will either be a sleeper hit (which it deserves given the quality of the song and how dang catchy it is) or it doesn’t take off. Either way, they get to try again in January/February with single #2. 
 

I just want multiple live performances this era!!! Both for promo and because I love them lol.

I feel like she dropped this song as a taste of the album for the monsters and not so much the GP, especially considering the Christmas freeze is destined to cause the song to not chart super high in the coming two months anyway. My theory is that they're saving a huge GP-friendly banger for an early 2025 release to have the room to breathe and grow on the charts. Either way, this is shaping up to be one of Gaga's best albums ever, and I couldn't be happier or more excited!! Enjoy the music y'all!!
