I think the one time a man's opinion really matters is in very specific situations. Like, a committed couple where the woman gets pregnant, there's no risk to her (outside of usual pregnancy risks), but she wants to abort while he wants the kid. Even though the final choice is obviously the pregnant person's to make, it's nice to hear out a partner/potential father.
