BornAsUnic0rn 2,070
I truly believe it’s one of her best songs, and I am still surprised to this day that it didn’t get massive. But yeah, Monsters expected RedOne Gaga which it wasn’t. Also sadly quite a big part of the fanbase can‘t help but rate Gaga‘s singles based on their success. Look at Judas for example, until it became a steady TikTok & streaming darling, it was almost consensus that Judas was her biggest mistake and the beginning of some kind of downfall. But now that it‘s slowly surpassing single after single in streams, they „always loved it“.

Hahaha the dive bar tour was so fun, I remember being so stoked to see the livestreams. I love these special moments she creates in every era. The beginning of Chromatica era was also super exciting, I was hyperventilating when she posted new Gagavisions and was posting a lot of crazy videos on her socials (like that one with her high at the fast food hahaha). I’m really curious to see what she have in store for LG7

Our modern stan culture is really spoiling the experience of pop music with this obsession over numbers. Like you said, our perception if a song is good or not is becoming more and more based on how many streams the work can get. And it definitely didn’t need to be like that, because Gaga is already a consolidated figure in the music industry. We could definitely just relax and enjoy the music. Slave 4 u, one of the most iconic singles in pop history, peaked at number 27 on the hot 100. Imagine if that track was released today… Twitter would claim it as a flop, and the general perception surrounding the song would probably be mediocre. This is so crazy and sad… 5

I was driving in a green dodge neon, back in April of 2011, and the radio host said this is the new song by Gaga, maybe 2 days before the actual release, and I hollered!!! I couldn't believe it. I was at the intersection of of Mt. Harmony and Route 2 in Calvert County, Maryland. I was in disbelief it leaked. Love Judas!!!! So glad to be a OG monster! FameHookah 4,595
Well for me it was the super aggresive vocals BUT i was going thru the exactly same ( at a smaller scale) so yeah it made sense to me as all the gaga songs did and are doing including Disease i mean i was kinda youtube famous back then (1 million subs, i pivoted and left my old content ala fame/btw shift) people just abandoned me idk her journey was and is so close to mine (on a MUCH smaller scale) that it felt so uncomfortable To hear even tho i loved it as i did every era and project Edited November 3, 2024 by FameHookah WTF is MDNA 1

Just A Holy Fool 2,550
Because it’s not that great. It’s boring to me, and probably one of the worst songs on Joanne. 2
Didymus 34,379
Because some people can be honest and say it sounds like a half finished Miley song? It's got a good base, all fans acknowledge Kevin's genius in that song. Thing is, that genius got downgraded a bit. The mix is not great, Gaga's Eastern European adjacent accent is annoying and unnecessary af, and the song just never flowers into its full potential.
