I ain't talking about technicalities, but how each songs will be treated. Disease is the first single of course, but it's kind of a promo single vibe. 

Sonically better? Do you think songs like Abracadabra can have success? No, they will be loved by MONSTERS, but won’t be hits. Same with Notorius being. And talking about Disease I think it’s better than Dancin’ in the shadows or what it will be called. It’s the lead, they’re simply going for a slow burner.

I feel you’re both right and wrong. It’s clear to me that the main single is gonna be the second single, otherwise why else release a lead 5 months away from the album. Second single is gonna be the main push for the album, get a Grammy performance probably and promoted alongside LG7 in TV appearances. So yes in a sense Disease feels like a promo single to keep Gaga in the minds of everyone from DWAS all the way up to LG7 in FEB 2025 but it’s still considered the lead nonetheless. Also ever since Joanne her second singles have been the big hit.

I thought this but there were rumors she's bringing back short films. So she could have been teasing a snippet of a 10 minute video that includes 2-3 songs. Which would also explain why there's no video yet, not all the tracks are out. Doja Cat released the first single from Scarlet as a promo single too, so it's a direction the industry could be pursuing in some cases.

Inb4 LG7 has a label with something like "featuring DIE WITH A SMILE and buzz single Disease". 

Jokes aside, I'm very happy with Disease and it's sound. The song is going to be fine because the album seems to be one of her strongest works since Born This Way.

Disease was/is still the lead single lol

DWAS was a standalone single that she decided to put on the album. If anything, that is the promo single, but Disease is 100% still the lead.
