chun li 2,602
Please mind you, that month she was silent felt like A YEAR. I swear... it truly felt like in between Chromatica and LG7 in terms of intensity. We used to be fed so much and that was the first real draught. It was TRAUMATIC. She had an orange wig that was not giving at all and used to post with that fuzzy dog. People used to make edits of her with green hair and making fake ARTPOP leaks. We had a song named Stache and used to think the whole albums would sound like that. itsandrewtbh 362
What a time to be alive tbh The pre ARTPOP ero for me starts with The Fame Perfume release with the cunty looks, always remember she held a massive party for it and ended up taking a nap on a big bed with a net around it and said it was performance piece Then the fame commercial which used scheisse, then the hip incident, her being papped in a diamond wheelchair. Then stache came out which fed us for abit. Then we had the art pop announcement picture (white visor glasses) and I'll always remember Burqa leaking, there's a clip somewhere of LMs reacting live to the leak lmao. It was such an amazing time to be on here tbh. I miss those times! You can never have too many hats, gloves and shoes.
27monster27 11,137
It was a dark time. Most of the world turned on Lady Gaga because of Born This Way. The Born This Way era might be one of the only pop eras in history that felt like two separate eras with only one album. 2011 was so exciting, and then 2012 - early 2013 was dark and felt so different. She could do almost nothing outside of the perfume and tour because of overexposure due to prejudice in the media (and a bad niche to be massive due to technology). Then she went silent after her hip broke. She had time to heal and in theory would've been ready to come back happy, even in spite of problems with decreased success. That didn't happen. She was suffering due to trauma, and Troy Carter betrayed her and lied to the world about their split. Everything that was supposedly happy ended by November 2013. It wouldn't be until 2014 that we would slowly be able to unravel everything that happened. he/him/his

NewUsername 11,000
I remember a topic on GGD about her writing ARTPOP on some monsters hands/arms with 2013 and everyone thinking she made a mistake and meant 2012, while actually she really meant 2013. The party girl, high cannabis era, brunette aloof FAME perfume persona, I think even she didn’t know what was real or not anymore… all masking physical and emotional pain, but STILL living for the fans - living for the applause, ARTPOP song writing laced with the chaos in her mind…. Gaga’s Born This Way Ball tour, which began in 2012, was cut short in February 2013 due to a hip injury (a labral tear), forcing her to cancel the remaining dates. This setback kept her out of the spotlight for several months while she recovered, creating a period of silence before her next major move….. ARTPOP came and it had dance bops, us fans loved it, but the world wasn’t ready to digest this artistic chaotic piece of work.. Music landscape was also changing. Hence the journey through reinvention…. 10 years of personal healing, career nurturing, further talent crafting, to fully get to the reborn Gaga we have today This makes me sad to think Gaga was giving her best work and giving it her all just to be ridiculed and hated for no reason. She didn't deserve any of the hate. It feels like the decade since she's been in hiding and in pain. Maybe I'm reading too much into it...
