Butters Stotch 5,342
This was really the worst scenario. I wasn't 100% conviced the movie was going to be a success, but I think no one actually excpected it to flop so hard. Anyway, stream Harlequin, at least we got a beautiful album. Prostitute Barbie 4,074
They should have followed the plot of the film and had it be a “made for tv” movie

Releasing them less than a month after they released is something that really started during the pandemic and I wish they didn’t do it. It’s like we’re not giving anything a chance anymore The theatre scope is completely different, so much less employees everything is done through kiosks, the big theatre by me that use to be hustling and bustling looks like a ghost town it’s the size of a mini mall and had lines, restaurants and multiple snack areas, all those areas are closed now, there’s one area you enter everything else is blocked off and one area you get snacks, everything else is shut down, it feels sad, odd and bizarre, because I remember the theatre at it’s height. It just feels completely empty.
Gaga Scholar 42
My massage therapist, whom I see monthly, asked me today--unprompted--if I had seen J:FAD yet. I said I had and hardly anything after that, and she immediately went into how horrible she's heard it is. She couldn't be more GP if she tried, so yeah, I guess bad news spread fast. Side note: Wish we could dump convicted felons running for President as fast as we dumped this inconsequential, not-even-close-to-the-worst-ever movie. Sigh. Anyhow by january Itll be avaible on Amazon im sure It leaves IMAX tomorrow in my area, I went and saw it one last time. Saw it both ways, it really does make a difference in IMAX with the viewing experience. Hope you go see it. I’ve missed so many movies due to them not staying long in theatres, but this is one I didn’t want to miss. I really enjoyed it, I thought it was impactful, made you think. For those that aren’t invested in stories about mental illness or wanted to see more blow up’s action and stereotypical Joker Harley comics, I get why they were disappointed, and to me it was quite sad to see the critics and fans turning on the film, because I thought it was such an impactful artistic movie. Maybe because I work with adults with disabilities, & it’s my profession, and not often do you see stuff like that depicted in movies honestly, it was something that fed me in a way that wouldn’t others. I feel like the world needs more movies that honestly portray mental illness, which in the past DC has never done. It’s also very telling about where we are as a society, that society today doesn’t care about these stories & like the movie want to be entertained, & like the salaciousness and spectacle of a Joker persona, but don’t care about the real person or their story behind the persona, this was an important story Todd was trying to tell, and I think it’s a film that although bombed at the box office will be a cult classic, that many come around to and begin to appreciate the messages and choices of the film.
