She could drop her lead and then do a SoundCloud single drop and the SoundCloud song could take off on Tik Tok and all the sudden she's winning again. News cycles ala ARTPOP is not a thing anymore. Travis Scott has proven this. Morgan Wallen has proven this. Every single artist that has blown up through Tik Tok have proven this. Long term success and long term failure are not guaranteed based on news. It's about a core fanbase and individual tracks. Because of the algorithm delivery of news headlines via social media, new cycles run deep and negative stories keep getting fed to the people who click on them. Just look at the endless stream of negative Katy articles and negative Blake Lively articles. Because the algorithm rewards more of the same, it really fosters like-minded content. Only if positive stories starting getting more hits will it shift.
