Coldplay secure biggest week for a UK act in three years with 10th Number 1 album Moon Music

The 10th studio album from Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, Will Champion and Phil Harvey also becomes the band’s 10th consecutive studio chart-topper, shifting 236,796 units (182,166 CDs, 27,248 vinyl albums, 20,737 digital downloads and 6,645 sales-equivalent streams) UK chart units to reach the summit.

Moon Music has the biggest first week for a British album in three years, since Adele’s 30 debuted at Number 1 with 261,000 chart units in 2021. 

Moon Music is also the fastest-selling album (physical and downloads) since Adele’s 30; with Coldplay managing over 209,000 pure sales. 30 logged 218,000 in its opening week.

On first listen the album was mostly meh.  I think I may like it better later.  Liked "All My Love" the best.

i like feels like falling in love, but have only listened to that one so far. it feels nostalgic in a way, but also fresh. it's not a big deal, just a cute pop track. still better than any maroon 5.

I’d say their best album in quite a few years. They’ve also taken a play from TS, there’s different versions with live tracks added or bonus tracks. But it’s not BS versions, they each have maybe 10 extra tracks
