I want to see Todd's Director Cut of the film I dont care if its 3 hours long. Without James Gunn and WB's interference, the stairs scene alone couldve been better.

The alternative scene where she does her silly dance while singing "That's Entertainment":bradley:

Spoiler

The leaked/alternative stairs scene compared to the chosen ending, the missing pregnant stairs fantasy scene, elevator scene, kissing the woman “now we’re both going to hell” god…. So many missed choices. Even the promo photo of her in his cell with a beige sweater, I feel like she was his therapist in some version they filmed, idek. But I will say the random man stabbing him with the get what u fking deserve I gagged!

SpadesToStart

I need the director/editor to explain themselves.

-Lee and Joker's waltz was like 45 seconds, when it absolutely should have been the full 2:48 song.

-They cut the entirety of Lee and Joker dancing on the courthouse steps, which was such an amazing shot and featured SO prominently in trailers.

-There's definitely a significant amount of end-of-movie Lee scenes that were cut, and it kinda kneecaps Lee's character arc.

Agreed. Gaga mentioned the waltz "falling apart" and while watching I was like girl where does it fall apart? The scene should have been longer for sure.

Her character abruptly disappears I agree, but maybe that's cause we're in Jokers mind..

The melody that you choose can rescue you ♥

I remember when people said they’d be worried about the press for this movie because they thought Gaga and Joaquin wouldn’t mesh well together, but honestly I’ve loved their chemistry in every interview

That was me lol! Pleasantly surprised at how great they are together.

Watching the ‘full context’, they giggle, have a silly moment, and then literally pivot to their time filming the movie. That was not the question - but it’s smart because literally what else are they gonna talk about? Feed into the mess?

well, no, the question was about the musical psychotic reveries and the relationship between the two of them in the first place thats why they got silly, and then if it was everything they expected it to be, and joaquin answers it, he says "i did know what was going to happen" and "i feel we achieved what we were set out to do" and then goes to talk about the filming and their relationship cause that was part of the question too. I hate when fans nick pick like this and project their own opinions in the creatives when they are not even sure at all, this happened during HOG too and it is just so frustrating.

Do you really believe Joaquin who has never sign up for a sequel just gonna do this and not like the plot or what the movie tells? i mean the whole movie started because of conversations between him and Todd, so he was an integral part in the development of this movie, do u think Gaga too would sign up too for a movie she doesn't like? and for what? oscar bait as i have seen some "fans" here accusing her of? you can just disagree with them and not like the movie for yourself and thats it, this projecting is honestly disrespectful to creatives..

And also, not to mention that he dropped out of Todd Hayness movie literally five days before filming, so what makes you think he wouldn't drop out of this movie too at any point he wanted if he didn't like the direction or the story of it...

Let's wait and see. The movie is getting torn to pieces by a lot of people who've not seen it yet. There are still people out there who are excited for this movie and dampening it as something unworthy is doing no one a favor. Maybe the movie will have its strengths that are just too unconcentional for some critics or doesn't provide the taste for a certain people but that doesn't mean it's going to be a failure from start to finish. Also I'm sure the acting between Phoenix and Gaga is going to be very entertaining.
