But I can understand why people who are here for Gaga's pop could be disappointed. I was brought up at a time when jazz was still popular. Actually, there are still jazz concerts for us "old and tired people". I attend them quite often. The songs are mostly covers of the old jazz standards. One thought; Perhaps Gaga could be influencing some of her pop fans to give jazz a try. I remember Tony Bennett doing a show on MTV. MTV's audience is mostly rock and pop fans, but Tony sang entirely jazz on the show. It sounds good and she sounds great and it’s a nice album but I would never categorize it as challenging or ultra original. They’re fairly straight covers tbh. I think it’s very okay for us to like something pop just bc it’s nice pop without needing to assign it or Gaga this crazy auteur title.
