Nite 4,504
It feels like a lot of the people who said "this won't work" when the idea was announced are now happy others aren't liking it and are trying to one-up each other to prove themselves right. I didn't absolutely love it but it really wasn't the disaster people make it out to be. 5
Juniper 774
The problem isn’t the acting or the score or the cinematography - it’s the fact it doesn’t go anywhere. Just stomping in the same place, bringing up what happened in the first movie over and over (which actually are the best parts).

It actually starts showing the main character in prision for his first movie actions, follows his judgment and has a proper end / consequences how is that not going anywhere? Just say you din't like instead of plain nonsene . Edited October 3 by NarlesLM 2

NarlesLM 486
Also I don't think showing the consequences os his fractured mind (leading to actions) on his personal life / relationships and the environment around him is FAR from "going nowhere" - MY GOSH THIS MOVIE HAS SO MANY LAYERS LIKE COME ON I CANT BE ALONE HERE. The Way Gaga is used to prove the main point is just GENIUS! Gonna watch it again this weekend. Edited October 3 by NarlesLM
CyanDante 5,834
Okay second time viewing, after letting go of all my Gaga expectations, The movie felt better than my first impression. Like I could tell why some things happened and I warmed up to the movie. This is definitely Gaga’s best acting outing till date. Still wish she was more present though. StressedOut 611
I'm surprised people are mad about the ending, I thought it was one of the only saving graces in terms of driving a point home...
Mr Oak 6,958
About the ending, am I crazy or Spoiler Could the lyrics about Arthur wanting a "son", to continue his deed imply a sequel? Didn't Arthur's killer hack a Chelsea smile on himself with the knife afterwards? It was all blurred, maybe I'm trippin Edited October 3 by Mr Oak
Shyane 1,309
I haven't watched the show yet. (Also don't know how you guys are able to watch it so soon) my question is: should I watch the first one before I watch Joker 2?

Spoiler The guy who killed the Joker was in prison with him and was watching him and his actions from the side the whole time. And this guy, through killing the Joker, played by Joaquin, becomes the "real" Joker (this can be understood from the fact that he starts laughing after the murder and cuts out his smile like the Joker did in one of the comics). That is, Arthur's killer is inspired by his life and will take his image as a basis for his future crimes. The Joker is killed by the new Joker, who will do what he does in his classic image (kill people on purpose, etc.). Arthur is a real person in this universe who was the inspiration for a future killer who will take the Joker's image.

And it’s NOT as bad as people think it is 😭 from the reviews and the meltdowns I thought the movie is a mess from the beginning till the end.. anyways I’m gonna give my spoiler review once I figure how to use the spoiler tag but overall I can say is Gaga, I’ve never been so proud of her and her performance, I cried during particular scene. I love her so much 😭 I agree, it wasn’t as bad as people are making it seem. I guess there were a lot of expectations from the first film. But I actually feel like rewatching it, I might go tomorrow. 1
moonsago 6,468
Is it just me or does anybody else feel like there is an actual effort over on twitter to make it seem like the movie was worse than it is? I just saw a tweet with over 88k likes saying how people were leaving as more musical numbers came up… I find it hard to believe this. The reaction seems so dramatized, like I get a lot of people didn’t like it but something’s fishy over here. Also, a lot of these hit tweets seem to come from Marvel fans, is this what they do? 6
