It's a "college kid who spends too much time online" problem. Not a white people problem.

If you want to talk about racial identities, a lot of hispanic and latino cultures are very religious and conservative by nature.

You can see here that Trump is pulling Bush level numbers and 2004 was an excruciatingly close election that came down to a state with a large hispanic population.

Also note that much of Bush's support was out of Texas which is a state that Trump is rapidly losing ground in.

Now consider that this poll is polluted with bad data (see my post above, 11% of respondents are white europeans) and that the winning route for Kamala is through states with mostly white and black voting populations, with whom she is doing well, especially with women, and I'm not too concerned by it.

I've seen it a few times across social media when people want to criticize some of Kamala's stances and policies. That white people are ignorant because the question should just be right and wrong this election cycle. That POC don't get the luxury or criticizing Kamala because Trump is gonna take their rights, and that white people then seem to have a choice because they won't lose rights.

They've toned down a lot of the overt racism about the border in regards to latino people. And it's not exactly a new trend in any country for settled and assimilated immigrants to be anti-immigration especially if they arrived via legal means. There's a known trend of "they mean the other immigrant" very similar to log cabin republicans believing they're only saying "god hates those f*gs". 

Plus a lot of people who moved or fled to America fled countries like Cuba/Venezuela and are often anti-socialist as a result. So naturally they end up supporting the party that echoes that line and Trump's presidency saw a reversal of the Cuban thaw - partly why he has reduced Florida's likelihood to swing at election time.

This but I don’t think the GOP toned the rhetoric down, they just got mad at more things so the ire feels more watered down lmao

I’ve met so many POCs in real life that literally have such a huge hatred for their communities, it’s crazy. A handful of my relatives (who are legal immigrants) constantly spew racist sh*t against “illegal” immigrants just because it makes them feel superior. It’s so gross, I can’t even go to certain family gatherings cause I literally just end up leaving pissed off lol

Honestly I don't think it's even a class thing. Even working class legal immigrants or 2nd/3rd gen children of immigrants who are working/middle class have shown a degree of not empathising with other immigrants - especially when the far right has effectively built a narrative now that every single *new* immigrant is illegal.

Predictable given that the Democrats don't have a good platform regarding immigrants. All of Kamala Harris's virtue-signaling on the border issue has definitely hurt her popularity in this regard. Trump has nothing either, but that, combined with the racism that migrants suffer every day, makes things worse. The US is very obsessed with dividing its population into well-defined racial boxes, and that's often not the most convenient thing to do, humanistically speaking.

I feel like everyone does it, including white people. Ive seen alot of white people make fun of white people in a racist way assuming I was gonna agree with them, and it always ends awkwardly. And all racists have their arguments and excuses to why their racism is justified.
