My grandma who mostly watches Univsion and Telemundo cannot stop talking about the scary Venezuelan migrants and the caravans of illegals coming to the border. I don't mean to keep spamming your thread ☠️ but I just found this in the community section of a pollster/data YouTuber I watch: http://youtube.com/post/UgkxwxLLryoiNVO5OH0VaijVR2AQs-MXlJVb?si=XCjjPu98-d6wJbbA It seems 11% of the people polled in this poll aren't actually hispanic, they're white voters with European backgrounds ☠️ and South American voters are gravely underrepresented. It remains true that Democrats are losing support among hispanic and latino voters, men especially, but I'm curious how much this 11% that shouldn't be included exacerbate the apparent erosion. But he's focusing less on Mexicans which is a clear dogwhistle about Latinos more generally (hence Hillary's numbers) and instead the alt right are focusing on dog eating transgender hatian aliens or something weirder. His language is so garbled and crazy this time around that its easier for conservatives in ethnic minorities to feel like hes not talking about them. JoeCool 1,025
I live next to a city with a lot of Latino residents. For the most part I find them pretty friendly, hard working, and religious. Like I'll drive through there and notice more cars with crucifixes in them, statues of Mary, Churches, etc... IMO if that poll is correct (who knows I don't trust them) a good chance the Dems are viewed as being too far to the left by them in general.

We don’t need to worry about people voting for Trump, at this point we need to worry about those who won’t vote at all. This has very little to do with Kamala (you can see that Dems have been losing hispanic/latino support post-Clinton across the board) and has everything to do with hispanic/latino voters migrating to Trump (which is largely what’s happening here and has been happening for years). JohnDeWayne 211
I know a lot of upper middle class Latinos in Texas who quite literally hate immigrants and poor people. Many of them are also gun loving Trumpers, it’s wild man.

Emvee 8,845
It’s a little condescending to suggest that upper class Latinos somehow owe an allegiance to other immigrants or poor people. As if Latinos will forever be inherently “other” or “poor”. Should there be solidarity in Trump’s America? Yes. But that’s not really how this melting pot works. At a certain point, Latinos DO assimilate much like the Irish and Italians. Their incorporation into the US is not as racialized, it’s cultural. Once the cultural differences are neutralized, they are essentially mainstream Americans. As already mentioned, this comes down to a male issue. Not a Latino issue. Latinas still support dems. AsleepOnTheCeiling 6,976
1 hour ago, Foxyy said: Men. It's not looking good for Democrats in general with male voters. For a couple reasons. Men are more susceptible to garbage like crypto schemes, "brocasts" (podcasts like Joe Rogan or any of the alt-right echo chamber machines), and the mindset of "as long as I get mine it's fine". Male voters are consistently less informed and also less likely to have college educations. In a lot of ways, it's not a candidate quality issue or even a policy problem. It's a quality issue with the base itself. The good news is, men are also less likely to vote period. If Trump is winning among men but being dominated among women then great! All his voters will be playing CoD and chugging diet Mountain Dew on November 5th while women save this country again. Absolutely. Women vote at higher rates and have been galvanized ever since Roe v Wade was overturned. She's barely losing or coming in equal to Trump on many male demos but there isn't a single female demo she isn't leading by double digits. That's a winning coalition already, everything else is just icing on the cake. Well South American immigrants, Mexican immigrants, Cuban immigrants, and Puerto Rican citizens living in a US state all vote differently so it's tough to paint them with a broad brush. You won't find the same "latino voters" in Arizona as Florida and the pollsters often lump them all together which gives you junky data. Anyway what I wanted to say was Trump has actually ramped up his anti-immigrant hate speech, it's just falling on desensitized ears. Young conservatives who may have just turned 18 this year only know him as the conservative voice. They were in elementary school when he was elected. So he's not so outrageous to them which is why you see Trump's popularity rise a bit with the youngest conservatives but dip with the voters who are old enough to remember pre-MAGA years. Also another point about Florida! There are hundreds of thousands of Haitians living in Florida. If the Democratic Party could mobilize those voters they could take that state from Trump or at least put him on the defense and force him to allocate resources there. Something to think about. Definitely good points and I agree. Just find it interesting that white people are being blamed once again when there's more to it than white people. Not that they haven't been a problem, but it's also not productive to just call every issue white privilege. 24 minutes ago, Emvee said: It’s a little condescending to suggest that upper class Latinos somehow owe an allegiance to other immigrants or poor people. It's not that Latinos will always be inherently poor or less than. It's that that is how Trump views them as well as a lot of nationalists and extremists. The erosion of rights for Latinos won't be them all at once, it will be the rich helping take down the poor and then the rich will go next. Their incorporation doesn't matter because white extremist republicans will never view them as one of them. And that's where this allegiance comes in. They think it's a melting pot when really the heating element was turned off and they're just toppings stuck on top of the cheese.

Not that they haven't been a problem, but it's also not productive to just call every issue white privilege. I don't know that I've seen white people being blamed for any negative feelings around Harris' candidacy. The only time I see the word "privilege" thrown around is when leftists spend more time criticizing Kamala Harris than they do trying to make sure Donald Trump isn't elected. They care more about having a pure candidate than averting total disaster which is absolutely a position of privilege. It's a "college kid who spends too much time online" problem. Not a white people problem. If you want to talk about racial identities, a lot of hispanic and latino cultures are very religious and conservative by nature. You can see here that Trump is pulling Bush level numbers and 2004 was an excruciatingly close election that came down to a state with a large hispanic population. Also note that much of Bush's support was out of Texas which is a state that Trump is rapidly losing ground in. Now consider that this poll is polluted with bad data (see my post above, 11% of respondents are white europeans) and that the winning route for Kamala is through states with mostly white and black voting populations, with whom she is doing well, especially with women, and I'm not too concerned by it.
