I just don’t really understand her PR team. They should’ve prepared a coherent response to all the criticism from the very beginning, but instead we got that interview where she justified her decisions by talking about her experience as a mother.  At this point and after all the backlash, she should’ve had an honest and vulnerable conversation about why she didn’t take the best decisions and just take accountability for her actions. Instead we are pretending nothing’s wrong.

It’s dissapointing to say the least. Especially when you actually wanted her to have a nice comeback.

Katy have released 2 (flop) albums without Luke and have said before she don't have contractual obligations unlike some other artists under his labels.

Moreover, by having this behavior of avoiding the question, Katy have becomes part of the problem, which is not looking good for her, especially since she already bad rapport to begin with, cos she had refused to speak up nor supporting Kesha during her trials few years ago, and for that she NEED to be attached in any conversation regarding Dr. Puke. Supports from powerful people like she is, is exactly why Dr.Puke haven't been able to put to justice. So let's stop this "always blame the men" facade.

Artists lie about what their contractual obligations are constantly. There is nothing that holds them to having to tell the truth to the public about them. The fact she has 2 albums prior that flopped and has this album that is so bland and generic that reeks of label control... I don't think she is the one calling the shots on this one.

Plus, if you look at the credits, every song except "Wonder" has Aaron Joseph, Vaugh Oliver, Rocco Valdes, or Malibu Babie credited - all of which work for his camp and have very suspicious crediting regarding Luke. We have also know that Luke has to be contractually credited even if he doesn't produce on them. His supporters in his camp have said it as a means to praise him as genius for how it gave radio pull. Those that don't like it have talked about it and been forced to retract their statements - ie Doja. There is nothing on the up and up about the way his contracts are.

It's not a matter of "always blame the men" it's a matter of Luke being responsible for MAJORLY exploitative contracts and artists that have business ties to him or those in his camp being the ones that get held responsible before anyone even addresses the fact that Sony and him are the ones responsible. Keshas contract is NOT an exception - it is the standard. Which is exactly why he made it a point to punish her and damage her career as much as he could. Don't take anything said in interviews or in public as anything other than marketing - because that's what artists are under contract to do, market themselves and market their music. And TRUST that labels do not want this to change, because it makes things easier on them if they can move on to a new artist and continue the cycle fresh if the public turns on their previous face.
