Oriane 19,836
I know that some of us were confused to see "Get Happy (2024)" on the tracklist. Why on this song and not the other ones from the soundtrack? (This is not the only cover from the album) What if Get Happy was also the title of a song on LG7? Thus there will be a Get Happy (2024) and a Get Happy (2025)? Hmmm ok ok Get Happy was supposed to be a cover of Judy Garlands but please elaborate more! Your theories are valid But in the cultural sense, I just speak in future tense
FindYaKubrick 47
The song has been covered dozens of times. Look at the Wiki for it... often the song is listed after w the year it was released
Nessun Dorma 2,383
I wondered the reason behind “Get Happy (2024)" too and your theory makes sense! If it was just an indication that it’s a cover from the year 2024, the same logic would be applied to the other covers too.

Yes but it does not apply to the song Smile when listed by others. As seen here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smile_(Charlie_Chaplin_song) It may be a condition required for Get Happy specifically as seen here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Get_Happy_(song)#:~:text="Get Happy" is a song,of religious ecstasy for salvation. Noam Zioni 1,164
Maybe it’s something that has to do with rights for the song?

I see what you mean, but I don’t think there’s a requirement to mention the year. To me it feels like it’s just the way Wikipedia listed the covers, to reference the year of each one. The years are also referenced on Smile’s page, but instead of a list, they created separated topics.
Illuminati 15,791
It's a cover song, probably has something to do with the trillion other versions of it and licensing.
Nessun Dorma 2,383
Get Happy covers on Spotify are titled without the cover’s year. I really don’t think it’s a copyright issue.
Takox 284
Maybe Gaga recorded a version for C2C or L4S that didn't get released, so it's more for her side's copyright? See the world with me
Oriane 19,836
Why are half of the answers in the thread ignoring the fact that most of the songs in the album are covers and yet Get Happy is the only one where the year is mentioned?
