Reading through comments, I think a lot of listeners are thrown off by the beginning of the album which is heavier with traditional/jazz. I've been playing around with the track order since it came out and loving this sequence so far:

1. Good Morning
2. Oh, When The Saints
3. Close To You
4. Gonna Build A Mountain
5. World On A String
6. Folie à Deux
7. That's Entertainment
8. If My Friends Could See Me Now
9. The Joker
10. Happy Mistake
11. Smile
12. That's Life
---
13. Target Exclusive: Get Happy (2024) 

It feels more cinematic and makes the listening experience more varied.

Definitely a cool listening experience. The Joker and Happy Mistake are by far my favorites from the album.

Best vocal among her discography. Btw I wonder if this can be nominated for traditional pop for the Grammy. If it is qualified, it will likely win tbh.

The album is great if you are looking for an album of Jazz Standards. 

The versions Gaga did on Harlequin sound nothing like the original songs ... not jazz standards.

True! And even on the tracks with jazz arangements, she sings more theatrical than jazz mostly.

I can’t get enough of that’s life. Literally the first note of the song gives me goosebumps, and it just feels like the perfect end credits song. Play this at my funeral gags

Gaga’s “I Don’t Know What Love Is,” “1000 Doves,” and Disturbed’s “The Sound of Silence” is what “Happy Mistake” reminds me of!!!!!

Also just a side note, everyone wanting just pop albums from Gaga when she has done 3 jazz records. Just remember, if she didn’t do the first jazz record among other things she would not be where she is today. 
 

My bets would be that she would be in Katy Perry’s cesspool. She takes risks, she even said it recently with one of her interviews with Phoenix. That this joker movie is risky but she enjoys taking on the challenge. If she was still making music like TFM or ARTPOP for example, how boring? You don’t have to like this album, but appreciate the musician that she is. You listen to all of her projects and it’s still crazy to me that this is the same woman, no one can touch her chameleon status.

let’s be real, many would be more open to the idea of her dropping “jazz” records if it were original songs. And lots of fans have been begging her to release a rock album for almost a decade now, it’s not about pop music, I think. It’s about her own music imo. (but a bunch of fans do refuse to listen to anything, but pop bawps, it’s true lol)

No, I haven’t! and maybe that’s where my confusion about this project comes from. But judging by the snippets we’ve had so far, her own words, bold visuals, trailers and videos with Gaga’s insane glares at Arthur, critics saying that we don’t get to learn Lee’s backstory in the film, Gaga’s “I wasn’t done with her after we done filming” I was expecting a much different take on these songs! which is not even bad, I liked the album, it just feels like this whole concept was an excuse to release a collection of standards she holds close to her heart. that’s it! but again, we will see, maybe the soundtrack will clear this up for me.

She’s allowed to do what she wants, and fans “begging” her to put out anything other than what she is creating are absurd. People can enjoy it or not, but no one likes a Debbie Downer. That’s what all of these “it’s not my style” posts come off as to me.
