not sure how i'm feeling about this record tbh. world on a string, smile (didn't expect to love this one as much as i did, as this song has been covered like a billions times already), Folie à Deux (she ate with this one, such an eerie track lol, truly encapsulates the feeling of two crazy people falling in love), Happy Mistake is cute, The Joker is definitely the highlight of the album!!! Oh, When The Saints is also fun. Other songs are not it for me personally lol. I don't know, I was expecting something... edgier I guess? it's a me problem, I know!

Having a full studio recording of Gaga singing “Smile” is making me so emotional 😭

I’m not into musicals or most American classics, and my taste for jazz is pretty limited. Still, I get what she’s doing here. Her cover of “Joker” is fantastic, and the original songs hold their own. I might even revisit a few, like “World on a String.”

Here’s a thought: I just hope people don’t focus too much on the jazz elements and criticize Gaga for being “regressive” in her musical direction. I’m sure she’ll surprise us with LG7, but I’m not convinced this album will win over the critics. I hope I am wrong! I like the album! Cool side-project indeed.

okay so first off i do appreciate the release strategy of this project but like... gár could've taken the opportunity to explore a different genre all together instead of doing jazz music for the 43843925th time

the joker is def the highlight here and the only song i will be using

i can't wait to go to the movies next week cuz despite what critics have been saying about jfàd it looks like a fun time tbh

I hear what you’re saying BUT she would have released another Jazz album sooner than later anyway, and I for one am so happy that this hopefully scratched her „Jazz“ itch for the foreseeable future :ally:

hmm that's one way to look at it

hopefully we won't be getting a new jazz record/jazz residency any time soon

I didn’t expect to vibe that much, but ohh lord. This album is amazingggg.. it has everything (funny instrumental, classic ones). I won’t talk about vocals, cuz that’s Lady Gaga(of course she’s giving us VOCALLS). Honestly will stream the sh- out of it.

Gaga after tricking us into purchasing another jazz album disguised as an edgy rock album

I do love it though, and I’m not much of a fan of these theatrical songs. She can honestly win me over with anything :holdmyhand:

Meh, I feel like painting jazz as a monolith is the only way you could frame this as being musically regressive for her. IMO, this doesn’t really sound like her previous jazz records and I think the arrangements + vocal performances are some of the edgier + more daring she’s done in the sphere of traditional pop.
