Atlantic is really laying off its employees and artists and has financial problems

According to Billboard, the number is  between 150 and 175. The cuts include Margo Scott, executive vp/head of business & legal affairs & general counsel at 300 Elektra Entertainment; Chris Brown, executive vp at Elektra Entertainment and co-head of Roadrunner Records; Katie Robinson, head of marketing for Elektra Entertainment; Adam Abramson, head of sales & streaming at Elektra; and Aimie Vaughan-Früehe, executive vp/head of promotion and streaming at 300 Elektra. 300 Entertainment co-founder and current chairman/CEO of 300 Elektra Entertainment Kevin Liles is also exiting the company without replacement.

Atlantic also dropped around a dozen artists from its roster this month. 

Right now, Atlantic — which has made it through decades with many generations of hits — is in trouble. They have just two albums in the top 50 — Charlie XCX’s “Brat” and the “Twisters” soundtrack.

Mainstay artists like Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars have not been releasing music. At the same time, Atlantic has not been developing new artists.

Several of their artists — including Gunna and Young Thug — are part of a massive 56 count RICO Indictment from the US government.
Lizzo, for example, is frozen as an artist until her lawsuits with dancers are settled or dismissed.
