Gaga was promoting her then new range of headphones in Berlin, Germany, when a rude reporter asked her a question about her this question:

This angle shows the wide grin on her face while asking the offensive question:

Gaga then demanded Collien be removed from the press conference, and bodyguards were quick to haul the TV presenter out

Collien later said: "I don't really understand the fuss. It's obvious someone would ask her this question after the picture was all over the news."

:triggered:

This was so horrible of that lady to ask, but at least we got the iconic quote “my beautiful vagina is very offended by that question!”

I know the 2000's were a very different time as to what was and wasn't okay to say/ask/do/etc. It just makes me think however, what on earth was going through the minds of people that made them not take a step back and think that perhaps, I don't know, asking someone about their literal genitals wasn't a tad bit..disrespectful? invasive? downright...rude? :saladga:

Lmao I remember this era... People were like "if you find lady Gaga hot, you're gay because she's got a d1cck! Hurr hurr hurr!"

Literally f*ck anybody who harassed her for this, especially people like Eminem that had verses like this:

Tell Lady Gaga she can quit her job at the post office/She’s still a mail (male) lady/Wouldn’t f**k her with a ****/You heard it, the verdict’s in

It's the main reason I hate this hateful little prick, he just keeps dissing women, but he gets a pass because "it's entertainment".

Plus, she NEVER looked like a man, some women would literally kill for her early 20's looks, this rumor was a display of jealously and pettiness from the people who perpetuated it, she was bigger than the world and all these people could come up with was "she has a penis", it's almost laughable if we didn't know it affected her.

I have NO sympathy to people who used this rumor as ammo in the past, literally f*ck them.

The melody that you choose can rescue you

Imagine being a woman and asking something like that to another woman.

Yeah. I have seen her on TV so many times and I can't put my finger on it, but there is something about her that I don't like (even before that happened in 2009) :D

at the time I was too young and I just defended her whenever I could with friends and stupid people but looking back on it it was crazy how many times people and interviewers asked her about this without even taking in consideration how insulting and disrespectful it would be

No idea, it feels like with female celebrities all was allowed because that was the price to pay for fame. Ridiculous I know.

Also, back then it seems like people didn't even realize the difference between drag, transsexuality, gender fluidity or intersex people. Actually to me it seemed people didn't realise Intersex people actually exist.

It's actually very impressive for a young woman like Gaga at that time to keep this in mind. And think about how offensive the media comments were to actual intersex or trans people. Not many people would be this considerate at that time, even people who are 'woke' now. These topics just weren't discussed back then and there was a lot of stigma and misinformation.

I mean, even drag race forced trans contestants to present as male for them to be able to be on the show.

It really was a different time.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch
