I think albums should be evaluated by how good they are, not by who spent the most amount of years dedicated to the country genre. Artists should be allowed to switch genres (ex: Taylor going from country to pop - I’m OK with her being embraced by the pop genre). THAT SAID, Bey said this isn’t a country album and maybe there were other better country albums and that’s okay. I wasn't fond of CC.

I am all for artists exploring different genres and trying different things. But crossing over to different genres and then immediately expecting awards isn’t realistic.
 

I think with country music and probably other genres, people are looking for a country music artist, rather than an artist who happens to make one country music album.
