i don’t think people thought she seemed fake or insincere. i thought they were lol’ing because it was pure earnestly, which makes it camp

both "fake" and "insincere" are verbatim what I've seen even on the recent press thing she did for Joker. They could be haters but a lot seem to be gp who I think don't take singers turned actors as seriously as they deserve

She's barely even begun. She has no song for it this time (sounds as if it might be an instrumental but not an actual song) so there's no performance to do. She's already gone to the Venice Film Festival and she'll be promoting on Graham Norton on the 27th. Apart from the premiere in the US and maybe London, what else is there? Posters and tv trailers will do the rest. The movie will sell itself. Actors don't need to promote in the way that singers do (and even they don't promote anymore).

Maybe she will promote the movie during 2-3 weeks in end of September/October, than release the single the last week of October ? Everyone will have Gaga in their mind thanks to the movie and want to listen to her again

I hope she moves on as soon as the film drops tbh 

this is kinda how film industry works, isn’t it? The actors promote the film shortly before it gets released and then show up for awards season. It’s not like music industry that artists keep popping up everywhere to promote different singles and stuff

If she is moving on quickly it might be due to the fact that Joker 2 is currently predicted to be a box office letdown. Why would she devote so much time and energy to go on extensive press for a movie in which she was relegated to a supporting role when there is tons of hype around LG7 and her streaming has exploded on Spotify. She needs to release her lead single as soon as possible to capitalize on her momentum

I honestly wonder if as a fanbase we have overestimated Gaga’s involvement in Joker.  We always kinda knew it would be a supporting role, but I think Gaga isn’t as prominent as we were expecting.  That isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but Gaga may have taken the film partly because she would be less involved than she was with ASIB or HOG and she could still work on the film without as big of a disruption to her music.

I don't think she's done promoting FAD- the film isn't even out yet. I presume she will attend a Hollywood premiere, potentially set up a for your consideration campaign, and do more interviews and junkets closer to the release date. The film was complete long ago, so moving onto a new project is only natural. Her obligations for this one are almost complete. 

Her work isn't created in a vacuum, there isn't really an end date of one project and a start date for another, she's monkey barred from one project to another with one hand on each plenty of times. Born This Way promo was well under way and she still had months of dates of The Monster Ball, and ARTRAVE was only half complete when she was promoting Cheek to Cheek. She was also talking her new album during promo for AHS.

What's exciting about Gaga right now is she is eager and excited about this new project, she's ready to get the ball rolling and to present it to the world. There was tremendous pressure with ARTPOP, Joanne, and Chromatica, but the ball is firmly in her court with LG7.

i think we will have to see until after the movie comes out, but i also feel like her and joaquin have zero chemistry in real life so it doesnt come off as a genuine rapport like she had with bradley cooper - which makes it harder to do press
