P Diddy ordered to pay $100m in sexual assault case

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been ordered to pay $100 million to a man who alleges he was drugged and sexually abused by the American rapper in Detroit in the 1990s.

Derrick Lee Cardello-Smith, 51, sued Combs in June after claiming to have met him while working at a restaurant in Michigan decades ago.

A judge in Michigan issued a default judgment on Monday after Combs, also known by his stage name, Diddy, and formerly known as Puff Daddy, failed to respond to the civil personal injury lawsuit, court records show.

Lawyers for Combs, 54, say he has never met Cardello-Smith, who is in prison, and will seek to have the decision dismissed.
