I can’t think of any other pop star who has shifted to acting after A Star Is Born aside from this one rumor about Adele. Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez, and Jennifer Lopez have returned to movie and TV in the last few years but they were actors before singers and acting professionally before Gaga was even acting. I can’t think of an actual example of a pop star following in Gaga’s footsteps after A Star Is Born. I suppose The Weeknd did. I really don't see Adele doing this. Her USP is she's completely music orientated in her output. She doesn't seem to have any desire to do anything else. She once even joked that even though she's got 3/4 EGOT wins, she'll never win a Tony because she hates musicals. And while Nicki hasn't done anything in acting for a while, she's clearly been trying to get casting directors interested in her with the amount of acting she puts in videos, most notably her video for Do We Have A Problem? Before Gaga took on the role of Ally in ASIB, there wasn't any major pop girl or boy who had NOT acted in movies or TV shows. Britney, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Madonna, Whitney, Mariah Carey, 50 Cent, Eminem, Usher. Gaga didn't impact anything in the movie industry, she's just the only one to successfully transition into an A-list actress from an A-list music career.
