Linkin Park selects Emily Armstrong as new singer

Linkin Park‘s new co-vocalist will be Emily Armstrong of the band Dead Sara, the band announced Thursday during a live performance event. Colin Brittain will also join the group as a drummer.

The announcement came Thursday as Linkin Park debuted a new single, “The Emptiness Machine,” the band’s first new music release in seven years, and the lead track for an upcoming album dubbed “From Zero.”
 

“From Zero” will arrive on Nov. 15.

Chester meant a lot to me so I’ve had my reservations about a new vocalist. But I’m listening to the song now and I think she’s a good fit. I like the tone she brings to the band. Good melodic singing and scratchy sounding shouts that give Chester vibes. I’m looking forward to what else they have in store

They should've gotten a different stage name TBH. I do understand the financial benefit from keeping the brand, and I by no means think they should've just give up their career and dreams. 

They deserve to continue making music. But it really doesn't sound like Linkin Park. 

It ~vaguely~ does. It sounds like... a Linkin Park influenced, new band. 

In any case, I'm glad most of the audience is being positive about the new single. People online can be incredibly cruel, and they're still healing from trauma. 

I can't see myself excited about a new album with this lineup, or getting tickets to see them live, but I do hope they thrive with their new project 🖤
