Can everyone stop overanalysing the behaviour of people? This is why folks have anxiety in these situations, cause they assume this is what people are doing to them.

Why? Isnt it normal to read human expressions? I just finished watching the interview and this was my observation. This is the field or profession he chose to be in, in the limelight as an actor. I just observed that he seemed disinterested and here you are talking about my opinion being the reason why people have anxiety.

Gaga sounded very natural and at ease, great job! Would have liked to see more questions for her, though.

I don't read Joaquin as uninterested, I think he just has anxiety, isn't too eloquent and doesn't like speaking in public and those three things having an effect on each other.
Also, didn't he have some problems with stuttering when he was younger?

The press conference was a nice watch but I wish they asked some more interesting questions, like about Gaga developing Lee’s character. Gaga and Joaquin seemed to get along nicely and she came across well spoken and thoughtful.

Joaquin is so relatable by his neevousness and awkwardness in public. I can relate to that shxt a lot. Public speaking is nerve wrecking. 

Gaga looking demure and mindful. And I enjoy her answers better, just say what needed and no repeating taglines.

Well to be fair, she quite literally isn't the main character. Todd, Joaquin and Joker as a whole were a phenomenon in their own right. And they made a big splash in Venice when it premiered. It makes sense they get a lot of the limelight.

I just skimmed through this thread really quickly, but I’ll say these two things:

1.) In regards to the reviews, I’ve said this since the very beginning, but y’all need to set your expectations accordingly and be more realistic. The first movie was divisive, and this one will be too. Not every review will be glowing. In fact, there may be a lot of very negative reviews of the film. Don’t take it personally and don’t get upset. Watch the movie when it comes out and form your own opinion on it. Even though I loved the first film and I hope that this film is received well, I’m sure for the majority of you, y’all only care about Gaga and how she’s perceived. Based on what we’ve heard so far, she’s fantastic in it, even if people didn’t like the movie itself.

2.) In regards to Joaquin, he’s always been awkward in interviews and press junkets. Interviews aren’t his thing, literally watch ANYTHING he’s been in and you’ll see that he’s just as awkward. It’s not a bad thing, it’s just who he is. It has nothing to do with Gaga or his relationship with her. So y’all better leave this man alone

I have seen half the press conference so far and I find Joaquin to be very endearing. He straight up explains that these things make him nervous and uncomfortable, yet some people here rather read his body language and draw their own conclusions than actually listen to his words.

People can have trauma, anxiety, be neuro divergent and still be happy in their profession as an actor. Some things about the job are just easier to deal with for them than others. He's open and honest about it and I think it's brave of him and very refreshing.

Gaga used to feel very uncomfortable on red carpets for example, and admitted hiding behind masks and costumes to deal with this.

Gaga also used to repeat the same anecdotes over and over, resulting in memes. Everyone has their ways of dealing with press events.

To me she seems very at ease, more laid back and I really love to see it.

I feel the chemistry and comradery between them and find it very sweet.
