While I used to think like that when it became a cesspool for fascism, there's still people there who use it as a platform to generate money, either as a side hustle or full time job, and I think we can't judge them for using the platform to pay the bills.

There's artists promoting their talents hoping to earn commissions, small business owners, honest journalists spreading truthfully information, sex workers, business people promoting their talents in different industries, upcoming artists using the platform to connect with people in the entertainment industry, and more. Also people using it to promote and spread their charities, donation websites, Go Fund Me, Kickstarters, etc. And a lot of them are from Brazil, which means this might **** up their income for the next couple of months.

Sadly the platform is in the hands of a man who only thinks about himself, and upholds views that are extremely dangerous to progress and democracy. But expecting people to abandon ship without an alternative that is going to bring them the same levels of engagement and income shouldn't be the answer, and it certainly doesn't make them uncool either.

I do hope, however, that Meta and other platforms change their policies so more of them can find the same or similar success in their platforms, especially small artists and sex workers, and hopefully everyone can transition without losing much. 🙏

every website I've ever loved has eventually died  I guess that's life and the internet

Have you all logged onto X / twitter? Its funny and sad. I didnt know so many "stan" accounts were brazilians. A lot of them are saying goodbyes, its sad for the little monsters.

this is so funny cause I stopped using twitter like few days ago and only planning to open it back when LG7 era starts but my god I feel bad for the Brazilian fans they’re gonna miss LG7 era and discussions because it’s mostly there where we discuss Gaga’s comeback other than this forum.. idk about threads though (Twitter’s competitor) but yeah Elon sucks for this

I hope stuff like this helps to sink twitter and encourages more people to move somewhere different. As other users have said, the only reason I don't create a bluesky or mastodon or whatever account is that there's no point atm as there's just not enough people on them.
