Venice: Angelina Jolie’s ‘Maria’ debuts with 68% on RT

First big premiere in Venice, ‘Maria’ with Angelina Jolie has a mixed reception similar to ‘HoG’. Angelina is a major ‘Best Actress’ contender at the Oscars for this role but as the reviews are coming in her chances are looking less promising. Obviously, I mention this as JFAD premieres next week and Jolie is Gaga’s competition.

Pablo usually has mixed reception for his movies but usually secures the best actress nomination.

House of Gucci all over again. Widely acclaimed and awarded performance from lead actress but the film itself flops, and hurts her chances at being recognized with an Oscar.

A tale as old as time :traumatica:

Y’all better not get too boastful because Joker 2’s probably gonna have a similar score :selena:

Mixed but still ‘Jackie’ scored 87% on RT and ‘Spencer’ 83%. but then again Jessica Chastain won for TEOTF which had 68% so anything could happen.

The first movie has a 69% so I anticipate the sequel’s gonna have a similar score

I thought Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was the first this year? Reviews are already out. Also Gaga is mentioned as “supporting actress” (what a joke(r) is Jolie a leading role?

Like I said, I posted this because they both might be competing in ‘Best Actress’. Beetlejuice is no threat to Gaga. As for the leading/supporting debate, we don’t know yet. These are just rumours. I think it will very much depend on the reception of the film and her chances of getting in whether she goes leading or supporting.
