Bigger. This $200M budget is only for filming. WB spending extra money for the advertising too. Currently it is tracking projection for $70M opening week, which is bad and low. Cos the first movie is $1B, and opening week of $92.6M, people expects it shpuldw at least do $100M first week but it didn't. Second week likely slump lower too, aside from musical aspects, the ending of this movie will angered a lot of basement dweller Joker fans, instead of good word of mouth that first one had & Gaga fans will also not watching it as much now that people said she only have small parts Edited September 12 by RAMROD

Hyperobject 66,768
if the movie flops Twitter is gonna eat her alive, I hope she’s ready for it
ModernEcstasy 8,271
The movie ”failing” will likely have an impact on how LG7 will be received by the GP. I’m not ready to have a flop era. I hope peoples curiosity gets the better of them and they go watch it.

Joker has nothing to do with LG7 doing numbers or tanking.

A profitable movie usually needs Budgetx3 in its box office, so 600M would be okay Hopefully it will be in the 700-800M range at the end of its run, I cant see it being higher rn tbh

HIM820 1,749
The demographics for the presales are similar to the first movie, skewing male over 25. Most likely a lot are DC fans who will see anything they put out. It's interesting how Gaga's inclusion hasn't opened up that demo at least so far, which I assume WB was hoping for. I think the opening week might do better than predictions, hopefully with Gaga walkups. But after that... idk. It makes me really nervous how people are already considering this another Flash or the Marvels. I think premiering at Venice was a mistake and killed momentum, similar to Dial of Destiny at Cannes last year. Reality 71,860
The $70 million [domestic] opening weekend tracking is pretty awful, ngl. Ideally, it should open higher than the first film, but I think we're learning more and more that the first film truly captured lightning in a bottle. I don't expect Joker 2 to be as successful as the first movie, but it should be closer than this. Even if the domestic opening weekend numbers are in the $80-$90 million range, that'd be considered ok/good, but $70 million is low. I hope the tracking numbers increase as we get closer to the release date. And good word of mouth is gonna make or break this film. Even if the film is extremely polarizing, that's better than it being boring and dull—which, in all honesty, is my main concern. At least then it's going to generate chatter and interesting. If it's boring, then no one will care. 𝕀𝕗 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕨𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕒 𝕤𝕚𝕟𝕟𝕖𝕣, 𝕀 𝕔𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕞𝕒𝕜𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕓𝕖𝕝𝕚𝕖𝕧𝕖

It’s just the ending that will make people love or hate the film

I don't think it will be based on the marketing so far, but we'll see soon enough. 𝕀𝕗 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕨𝕖𝕣𝕖 𝕒 𝕤𝕚𝕟𝕟𝕖𝕣, 𝕀 𝕔𝕠𝕦𝕝𝕕 𝕞𝕒𝕜𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕓𝕖𝕝𝕚𝕖𝕧𝕖
