Just wanted to point out that as delusional as y'all make her out to be, she was most likely being ironic in that moment. that was def her goal, but for me personally, it just seems tone-deaf and very dismissive of the real criticisms being throw at her. Arcanum 5,090
6 hours ago, A Very Gaga Holida said: Controversial = that divides people If you use the word properly, her songs have always divided people, no matter how commercial they are. I’m not speaking about her recent flops. They’re not controversial, because they are what they are: universal flops. However, her old hits were both loved and hated by many people. Controversial doesn’t necessarily mean that people will protest like they did for Judas That would be a pop stan version of the actual word. Just like pop stans use the word “iconic” to describe a song while a song can NOT be iconic ´cause it’s a song Miss ma'am I remember discussing about the MV of Justify my love with my colleagues back in the day and being literally on the edge of beginning an unholy argument whether it was p*rn or art of seduction. This happened like 5 years ago, 30 years after its initial release. I asked today my colleagues whether they remember any Katy Perry song and they answered "the one with the pharaoh but I don't remember it's rhythm except that baby cries". If "controversial" stands for KP's songs, then we definitely need a new term for those that ignite big social fires. I Wantth your Love...I Wantth your Love. Hennycomb 3,500
Gaga swallowing a rosary is more controversial than her entire career. I just wanna take a moment to appreciate this feeling of vengeance after 2013 Applause vs. Roar and all the katycats who belittled Gaga. I normally don't engage in revenge feelings but after all that it feels good to see who's standing the test of time. I even used to mildly like Katy and would get addicted to some of her singles but I HATED katycats discourse towards Gaga, and now..... I'll let myself enjoy a little negativity
