We need a TV performance, physicals, Zane Lowe interview. Hell, even just the album announcement could boost the song.

Literally just drop the physicals and remixes on digital and then announce the album the same week

Solo hits since ARTPOP:

- Million Reasons

- The Cure

- Always Remember Us This Way

- I’ll Never Love Again

- Hold My Hand

- Bloody Mary

The Cure and HMH were moderate hits at best tbh

And bloody mary was an unusualy situation so im not sure id classify that under being able to release a single and producing a smash

Her biggest hits on this list were the ones with ASIB which also had movie give a boost

Call me a pessimist all u want but Gaga doesnt just struggle to go #1 solo in USA like u said. She struggles to go solo top 10 in general

Even MR took a sh*t load of promotion and itunes discount on week of super bowl to go top 10 for 1 week

Im not shading her. Its normal career progression. But theres no denying when it comes to more major hits, she definitelt struggles when they arent collabs. We have 12 years of data since hit after hit streak ended after Applause to kinda back it up

Totally agree and I do think the fact that there's so much defending against this is because it's so clear that all of her recent hits have been collabs. It's a "where there's smoke there's fire" situation.

But I don't think it's really a bad thing and I think there's a major double standard for women generally and Gaga specifically. A great example is Justin Bieber – broke out around the same time as Gaga, huge cultural phenomenon, and yet all his major hits in the latter half of his career are collabs (Stay, Despacito, 10,000 Hours, Peaches, I'm the One, Stuck With U) – he hasn't had a solo #1 since 2015 but nobody says, "But he can only get hits with collaborators!!"

I think part of the reason it comes up with Gaga so much is because she's really good at being selective with her collaborators because they're literally all successful. Meanwhile, Taylor releases high-profile collabs with Post Malone and Ed Sheeran, Beyonce with Miley Cyrus and Kendrick Lamar, and these singles either chart poorly or debut high and then freefall.

The opposite happens with Gaga – she doesn't collaborate often, but when she does, she does it well. And it's successful. So I think it creates the illusion that she's reliant on these other artists for the song to do well when really she's contributing just as much, if not more, to that song's success.

BUT – that being said, it's hard to deny that she also hasn't scored a solo hit in quite a long time. Both of these things can be true imo. Does it really matter, though? Pop music is one of the only genres where this would even be raised. Nobody in hip hop is bringing this **** up because collaboration isn't just expected but cultivated and encouraged. Likewise with rock and indie and alt and jazz. Pop *FOR WOMEN* is the only genre where there's this weird purity test with hits where stans like to degrade a female artist's success if it's part of a collaboration.

I really think that if we want Gaga to be liked by the GP, then she should go with ballads. Gaga with the piano is magic, i said it before that i am longing for her to do an album full of piano ballads.

I am happy as long as she gives effort in making music that she loves, gives effort in genuine collaborations, gives effort in making us smile.

I like Gaga being one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, yet sometimes she feels underrated or like an underground artist.

It's Disease 8th week in Hot 100. It's a tie with Judas. Next is ARUTW with 9 weeks.

All this talk about Gaga and collabs but let’s not forget that THE Barbra Streisand (one of the most successful artists in history) did a bunch of collabs that were successful top ten hits. If anything, I love that Gaga has resurrected the classic duet style that feels reminiscent of 1970s duets with Shallow and DWAS.

Sad it’s on the lower side of Hot 100, but still 8 weeks is not bad!
If the radio updates continue to be like the one from yesterday it could end up being in the Hot 100 well into the album promo cycle.

That is atleast 6 more weeks

With Die With a Smile reaching the top on the Canadian Hot 100, Gaga scores her 7th number one in the country! Her previous chart toppers include Just Dance, Poker Face, Bad Romance, Born This Way, Shallow and Rain On Me. So its pretty similar to the US, but Bad Romance got it’s well-deserved place at the top here at least. :firega:

I really want DWAS to repeak in Spain and Italy. That #16 in Italy on her whole discography looks so ugly compared to the rest.
