Also, stations like Z100 are heavily spinning DWAS - a mid tempo collaboration- and Disease - a dark heavier dance pop solo single. The diversity of this album is on full display right now, so I don’t see why her A&R team would want to be sending out another song right now which would take a while to end up where Disease is at best, or cannibilize the Airplay of those other 2 tracks at worst. 

It's the same reason The Weeknd's team didn't pull DITF when they released Timeless — they kept both songs on radio as part of the album promo. Maybe her team is hoping that having Disease and another new pop song on radio will help generate buzz. I'm not sure, but releasing a new single could boost her streaming numbers. Disease has stalled in streams, so maybe a track like Zombie Bride (or whatever the next single is) would perform better on streaming.

At this point it will need quite a bit of interaction to gain the “viral” tag on TikTok, but it’s doing pretty well! It just crossed 50k! 
 

Aquamarine only has 26.6k, which was released the same day, but DWAS had over 100k within the first couple of weeks. Depending on the specific audio used APT. Has +5million. So disease has a long way to go.

Where is the source for assuming “teams” have this much control over Radio playlisting? Yes, programmers can be influenced but The Weeknd’s 2 songs in heavy rotation isn’t the result of his “team” doing anything (beyond servicing a second single) - literally every single he releases smashes on Pop Radio, a completely different situation from Gaga. 

She has 2 singles right now - 1 is #2 on US overall Radio with over 1.3B streams, about to hit #1 on BB100. The other is pulling 800-900k daily streams with 13M AI on Radio, above her normal performance on week 8.

The chances of a single being released now and still pulling 800-900k daily by mid Feb are slim to none. The typical Gaga single will peak in streams its 1st 2 weeks, which coincides with the strategy for most of her and other pop albums- she doesn’t need 2 dying singles to sell an album. She’ll release it 1-2 weeks before.
