They’d been pretty stable at 250-300k and 150k forever, so hopefully they’ll end up there again once everything settles in the New Year. Unfortunately, those songs were never going to transition easily to the streaming era. Neither is any more/less “dated” or “forgotten” than other hits of the time, they’re just long with long intros; unlike Bad Romance, for ex, which has overcome its length because its intro is iconic, the best parts of these 2 songs take forever to get to (BTW bridge and TEOG chorus). 45 minutes ago, Creyk said: I am also sad that Bloody Mary stabilized at only 350k streams per day. It was such a big smash and became totally forgotten and it deserves better Similar situation as BTW/TEOG- it’s a long song with a long intro that takes a while to get to its most recognizable part (“I’ll dance dance…” pre-chorus). I think it’s great it even did as well as it did on Radio and streaming, considering nothing was ever officially released to really promote and tie the original song to the sped up version that went viral.

Another reason to hate the streaming era. Why people became so lazy? To really love a song you need to get into it slowly. Some great songs from only a few years ago were 4-6mins long and that was heaven. I wanna riot against what's considered popular nowadays Edited December 27, 2024 by Guest

Honestly I would love Alejandro, BTW and TEOG to have some kind of cute trends those are so understreamed considering how big they were. Judas, LoveGame, Paparazzi and Just Dance were helped by some trendy moments on TikTok. I hope the same will happen to those songs for a transition to streaming world. After not getting the Oscar nomination despite making it to every single one of the precursors, this fanbase should never feel this confidence about something ever again 1 1

Those songs were huge back then and people still remember them. Do we really want some tiktok trend using them to fade away in a few weeks just for the sake of getting some streams? Me not Classics don't need these ephemeral trends I don't really agree, Bloody Mary has became her biggest recent solo and a Halloween big classic hit thanks to TikTok and Judas is still of of her most daily streamed song for at least a year (and her next solo 1 billion streamed song on Spotify). Are they ephemeral ? No those trends helped her song on long terms to get their transition as stream hit while still being classics.
Shyane 1,644
People... those streaming number you see today is not these songs' typical streaming number. Christmas may be over but people are not back to their normal schedule yet. Once they do, the streaming numbers will be back to normal. That is about 250k-300k for BTW, 100k-200k for TEOG, and 500k-600k for BM. Also, we will see bigger numbers on the new year's eve. These effects are not exclusively a Gaga thing but a global spotify thing.

I don't know about Judas, but I guess it followed a similar path of Bloody Mary, a song that exploded basically because of Wednesday and that embarrassing speed up version. So yeah, I still think the same Running up that hill recent success was a true one, and that's what I would love to see in the future with Gaga songs, but always staying away from tiktok speed up sh*ts Edited December 27, 2024 by Guest

Bloody Mary is one vibe, Bloody Mary sped up is another. There is a particular feeling of frustration I have when people ONLY want a 15 sec sped up snippet. That's not the only way I like to experience Gaga's music. So when a sped up version goes viral I'm like "ugh but why did it have to sped up to go viral????" It almost feels disrespectful to Gaga! And then I'm like... ok this 15 sec sped up version is a vibe tho wink wink I guess what I'm saying is I get why musicians are releasing sped up versions of the songs. And I wouldn't mind if Gaga did Edited December 27, 2024 by Skyana Rava edited cause i swear a lot

Again, the last time ABS was ahead of DWAS, the gap was like 30M. It’s been in front of ABS for 2 (about to be 3 for the tracking week that just ended) weeks. Ok, so the radio gap would still be smaller than the last time it was predicted to overtake ABS then. How about streams? My biggest worry is that ABS dropped a lot because its listeners switched to Christmas music and now they will all switch back. Also, how do you feel SZA and Kendrick will fare that same week?
