Honestly, if the songs are gonna sound like disease, it’s not going to be a hit unless she goes for more catchy and poppy sound like Just Dance, Poker Face, Alejandro. Disease has a great production but the GP didn’t catch on because the song is just too ‘loud’ for the masses (albeit the radio call-outs are “decent“). I personally love it but the song is just not meant for the masses unlike top 10 hits currently like DWAS, BOAF, Espresso, Taste etc. she needs a catchy melody with radio friendly productions if she wants a Hit. I believe she can score an easy hit with the right song and production. Look at Miley for example, people are still coming for flowers because the song literally carried the entire album, ESV made zero noise. To be honest I don’t think Hold My Hand and Happy Mistake were that good. Of course it’s a matter of taste, but they’re not really suited for radio, and Hold My Hand still did pretty well, I think it has over 300M streams on Spotify. I’m sure DWAS would have been at least a decent hit if it was solo. It has a STRONG melody, clean production and cute/relatable lyrics. Sure, it wouldn’t have been as big as it is with Bruno, but I think if it was decently promoted, it could’ve done better than Million Reasons. But truthfully, we will never know. I don’t thing she should cling to chart positions. It’s just not her forté anymore. She didn't promote Hold My Hand that much, and it performed better than other songs in the movie soundtrack. Top Gun movie was given more focus than its soundtrack. It still garnered a decent number of views in YouTube.
