HAC: +6 / -0.003

oh wow that positive pop update, i personally did not expect disease to still get positive updates after that amazing radio/1st week push since it is clearly non-generic.

It's one of Gaga's best singles ever, it deserves everything.

There’s no chance Lady Gaga would be told or asked to make significant changes to an album that is finished and begun its promo cycle. She’s worked hard to earn confidence and control from her label, and it’s sad fans are always the ones - not a big bad corporate label - spinning these stories.

Interscope lets her release every 4-5 years with creative freedom knowing - with playlists, physicals, etc. - it will debut top 3, go platinum or close, and generate enough interest to sustain a profitable stadium tour.

If they released dozens of variants, flooded social media with paid content, offered all physical formats with signed copies, etc., maybe there’d be a hint of desperation. But, for now, there’s no sign of that and with 3 months + holiday season until the album release, that’s not surprising.

I mean, Disease is an amazing song, but it seems it doesn‘t click with the new gen. It‘s just fan service, unfortunately. :saladga:

No artist wastes time and money on a project intended to be “fan service.” If you think Disease is merely a rehash of her past hits, that’s on you.

Whether it’s “connecting” depends if you’re comparing it against lightning-in-a-bottle moments (Shallow, Bloody Mary, DWAS), or singles like Perfect Illusion and Stupid Love that more accurately reflect how her music has been received the last decade.

Gaga never released music that instantly connected with the GP. Why do people rewrite history and diminish how JD, PF, BTW, and Applause succeeded in spite of not instantly connecting? Her place in the pop culture landscape enabled big debuts, but expecting her to maintain that ability and position at 38 is unfair and ridiculous.

Cpeer

They surely have a bigger vision going on behind the scenes.

We have seen every possible scenario with Gaga, from flopping and never mentioning that single/song to her promoting Million Reasons for months.

If she wants to make it succeed she’ll give her everything :vegas:

Hey Boy

Tbh Gaga has been more of an album artist since ARTPOP era. For GP new Lady Gaga's album is much more of an event than Lady Gaga's new single. I'm sure LG7 will perform well even if all of its singles flop. Just look at Halsey's new album debut and its singles. That's the same case but Gaga is much bigger commercially.

It's difficult nowadays to sell albums in the long run without a hit single.

Even Chromatica had Sour Candy and Rain On Me the week of its release to boost numbers (+ tour bundles) if I remember correctly.

But hey, she has a team of professionals to handle that.

And what's clicking with the new gen? the bar song? the tik tok songs that the world forgets in 2 months? No thanks.

The world wants the ballads from her or what they call "real music". Y'all cried about it and she gave us a pop record. Now take it.

nope, they made the right choice

this week is not the one, the last thing i want rn is some pop star telling me to buy her discounted song

Shipment of physicals could’ve been scheduled for this week but announced prior to not clash with the election results. But you do have a point too

Chill. :toofunny: be careful with these inaccurate jokes. Disease alone is already bigger than the whole 143 era.

Disease has 13 days on Spotify Global & USA Chart.

143 got 2 overall/combined.

LG7 is now 11 days ahead of Katyperrification. :awesome:

If 143 is the true bar, she has already far exceeded it. The lead from 143 only spent a day on Spotify 200 :billie:

Can yall stop being so dramatic then…? My point was that we will receive high quality, probably her best project to date and there is surely a plan somewhere so dont ever think about them scrapping the album just because Disease underperformed. Kety bombed like no one has seen it before and still managed to release the album, have multiple promo stops and singles/videos

I just saw the mid-week prediction.
there will be about 13 point difference from the top two songs on the hot 100. They should’ve waited until THIS week to pull all the stops with the new versions and physical sales. Would’ve gotten the #1 much easier. Guess they estimated wrong

or DWAS is again overestimated by TOTC on the mid-week chart, like last time

Every single person who's upset about Disease not being a huge hit needs to read this post carefully. Please just let her cook.

Has anybody mentioned that Disease debuted at number 9 in San Marino? :vegas:
