It’s kind of annoying that some really terrible songs like “Criminal” by Meghan Trainor and “Forever Young” are still gaining; same with older songs like “it’s ok, I’m ok” - it’s not a DWAS situation where it’s smashing on another platform and/or has some classic sound to it. Hopefully it doesn’t plummet in the next couple of weeks, because I can see it making some moves after the album is released. The same fans (not directed at you) labeling Disease a flop due its #27 peak are the same ones who labeled Stupid Love one for its lack of “longevity” despite peaking at #5. We’ll never know what could’ve happened had a global pandemic not explored 2 weeks after release. However, of course it’s great Disease is so stable on Radio and streaming after 9+ wks. It’s worth reiterating Gaga’s strongest formats since 2017 have been HAC + AC; if Disease were just a little less aggressive (a la Bloody Mary), it could’ve gone a long way to keep it on Radio + Hot 100 since right now, almost all of its AI is from Pop.
