JustJames 688
1 hour ago, darkgaga said: How are the DWAS updates better than those of Disease… What is the confusion? DWAS is a mid tempo collaboration with one of the strongest cross-genre radio stars in the US and benefits form Airplay on multiple radio formats: Pop, HAC, AC, Rhythmic, giving Gaga her first Rhythmic Airplay entry since DWUW. Even still, it had a slow start as US Radio can move very slowly as we see with the Hot 100 being clogged up. Disease, meanwhile, is getting stronger updates on Pop than DWAS was in its second week, which is a good sign since even SL, ROM, and BM didn’t/struggled to go Top 10 on the format. And, the overall updates are great considering HAC and AC have been her strongest formats since 2017 and this song is going to be a challenge on those. 1 1

No doubt it’ll be excellent but we should stop conflating “magnum opus” with “critical acclaim.” No matter how good the music is or enjoyed initially, this fanbase will throw it under the bus as soon as the daily streams fall under an arbitrary #. All her albums until Chromatica were the most discussed of their year on MC. The fact her music invites so much interest and opinion is what made her a legend but also means it is unlikely to draw a consensus. Still, her work has been acclaimed; it takes just 1 critic to rate BTW a 0 for its MC to plummet, let alone the fact an album with a big LGBT anthem as its lead, religious metaphors, Europop inspired dance beats might not meet every single critics’ taste. Even Joanne was well received. The criticism was more rational than ARTPOP but was largely unrelated to the album itself and more on what they thought a Gaga album in 2016 should sound like. I think even a masterful LG7 will draw similar commentary. If the album is light on ballads, many will criticize her for fan service, others for not “showing off her vocal talents,” and others will say it falls short of (insert fave earlier album). If the album goes in the opposite direction, many will say it lacks authenticity, others that she is losing her identity, and many will reminisce for (insert fave earlier album). Well I'm just basing on Disease critics feeback that is trully excellent for her standards tbh. Especially for something that isn't Adult Contemporary safe zone this time. The most hate she get is by liddos / fans tbh. Which is funny because she is exactly serving what was asked since like ARTPOP times.

CookieHWilson 510
Sooo. since I am a Millennian like our beloved I kindly ask some of you that actually understand charts to answer some questions: I just use Apple Music and watch YouTube (no Spotify no YouTube music ) i stream the song on repeat daily around 50 times in a row. Then usually in the evening I play sone Lana or sone Massive Attack or Lucio Battisti. To make it be so that me streaking the song serves the chart numbers shall I di something else like create a playlist or smth? If I listen to the song tooo many times in a row after a while it stops counting? also: do video views counts for charts (the MV on YouTube ). What rules do apply here (same question as above: does it stop counting my views if I view it on repeat ? why and how radio is so important and counts that much? I thought it was dead nonsequitur

jacs vs looser 3,486
Midweek predictions are placing DWAS for a second week at No. 2 in the Hot100, with a 13 point difference. I read somewhere that Shaboozey is releasing vinyls on the 11th, so the Nov 9-15 week the gap will be larger, assuming they ship them that week, but the following week the gap might be small enough? I don't know what more tricks Lady Mars can pull though other than signed CDs or a special edition Vinyl with the acoustic version (?). Also does anyone know when the Christmas radio freeze starts? I actually think the song is strong enough to buck the freeze. Holidays help with the sentimentality, too. 4
