Also don’t forget everyone to watch the video at least 5 times (more per viewer YouTube doesn’t count) refreshing the page after each view of at least 30 seconds PER account

Google says 30 seconds and that’s what I’ve always remembered

I'm assuming they're waiting until they feel like they're going to peak on radio.

I actually literally thought this today when I was wondering where the physicals were. Take a page from DWAS’s strategy which is seemingly working - it’s at worst case scenario going to get a new peak more than 2 months after its release

Anyway, don't give up on buying the song, the video and the lyric video on iTunes and streaming it! Even if it debuts lower than expected, we can still show our support. :enigma:

That is maybe the point then> pop want YOUNG fresh meat and once you pass your 30s AS A WOMAN you are not palatable anymore...

This is a bad take imo. DWAS is as pop as it gets and is shaping to up to join her already long list of timeless global smashes through the years.

I am just amazed the high level Disease is for my taste is not (from what I am getting reading through here) getting any traction and doing bad on charts compared to her previous singles and will probably debut top 25 in US, which comes as a shock to me thb and I don't know why I care that much now!

Kinda astonishing

- Gaga is almost 40

- Gaga has not had a major smash solo hit since Applause (2013) 11 years ago (ARUTW was in a few Countries tho). All her bigger hits since have consistently been collabs

- This song is not generic or easily digestible or trendy

Ppl need to stop acting surprised its not instantly smashing on charts (and it may never tbh, well have to see).

Someone was debating with me before release how Gaga has a shot at debuting at #1 and i kept saying that was super unlikely and they kept insisting it was super possible. Im like talk about delulu :toofunny:

You are underestimating how good of a song die with a smile is. Even if die with a smile was a solo gaga song it would still do well. Little monsters carried those first  days streams and it shows Cuz disease got similar numbers.

Gaga doesnt need a collab to get a hit All gaga needs is a good song that has universal appeal, she needs an earworm.  And although disease is a great track its  not a instantly catchy hit. It needs strategic promotion and a lot of backing.

All the meltdowns is because you wanted a huge instant hit to brag and drag other fanbases on Twitter

That's the level of lame this fanbase has reached

DWAS literally her song, is the biggest hit of the year, literally 16 years into her career she's still slaying the charts, that should be enough to calm you chart hunger, but no, you wanted the solo hit narrative to battle with swifties and beyhives online

We are getting fed, with the kind of music we care begging her to do for years and also slaying the charts, all at once

Enjoy damn

I dont think im understimating. I know, I love it. I dunno if im confident saying it would smash without Bruno tho

I agree level of appeal will influence if a song is successful or not but i think it would be delulu to think Gaga is so big that any good song can and always will be a hit. Shes past that point in her career. I suspect it will be more hit and miss now especially with solo singles

Age should only work against her for  radio imo. In the streaming age, if a song is good people will stream it. Look at Beyonce.

I think it's delulu to think not.

And I didn't say just any "good song"

I think DWAS' success was a confluence of a lot of things.

First of all, it was just simply a great song. And we haven't had a big, honest to goodness love ballad in a while, and that's what made this so delicious.

Then, you have two great artists who could totally sell it! People had no idea how they would sound together, but when it dropped people saw the magic instantly.

It was kismet, I really believe that. At the time, both of them haven't released pop singles in a long time, so their fans were hungry. And to be fair, it was announced via Gaga's socials and it had one of its first viral moments because of Gaga's dancing. And the hype around JFAD. Not discounting the fact also that Bruno is beloved by GP. But you can also say that about Gaga because her adult contemporary-work continues to be beloved because of her work on ASIB.

Also, remember that Bruno AND Gaga wrote this TOGETHER, so it wouldn't be the song that it is if it wasn't the two of them on it. So it's kind of hard to speculate whether it would have seen as much success if one or the other released it solo. Because it would have been a different song altogether.

I disagree, while disease is fairly experimental for a pop song in 2024, it still is very catchy, just one listen and you will be hooked. This isn’t usually the case with her lead singles which often get polarised reception. It is designed to be a hit. I find it more appealing than all of her pop singles post applause (with the exception of ROM).

this doesn’t negate the point that it does needs push and exposure tho.
