Some days later it will all be wrong. Then when it goes viral everyone's gonna be like "I knew it would be a smash!" Then when Christmas songs kick in it will be "a nice moderate hit". Gaga is a totally different artist now, back then (maybe up to Chromatica) she would promote things as much as possible and we would accompany her by helping as much as we could. Remember the times she would release a single and repeatedly promote it with physicals, promo on social media, lots and lots of performances etc.? She had this restless fire that made her fight so hard to make any project successful. This was even more evident with Joanne - against all odds she still made this era relatively successful (btw despite PI being a much worse single, it will likely still outperform Disease and have a much better debut on charts). Even with Chromatica and SL, she did WAY more promo from the start, including social media posts, Ads, physicals from the get go etc. Etc. Now, it's very different. She literally won't bother to do any promo. Maybe a live performance here or there and I'm not mad. She simply feels fulfilled and successful to the point she doesn't care about the charts anymore. So, we shouldn't care either. For many of us this will be upsetting because we used to have the same restless energy to make every and each of her projects successful. But if she doesn't care, why should we? Why spend our hard worked money buying 10x on iTunes, plus wasting our valuable time streaming a song 100x times, etc.? Of course charts discussion and hype has its own merit by all means, but now it does not take the centre stage anymore. The music industry changed. This conversation has been going on this forums since early 2010s. What happened in the past won’t come back and it’s ok. We here do care about, well, the charts. But I love the song. More than any song she's released in a decade.
