Because it's a large group of people working together to advance their shared politicians, social, or artistic ideas. Being anti-smoking is that shared idea. She's clearly evoking a period where there was never a cigarette out of your hand. At this point literally almost everyone knows someone that smoking killed or helped kill so it's not just some little Gen Z fad that you can try to ridicule like this.
