Two arrested for planning terror attack on Taylor Swift concert in Vienna

Two men were arrested Wednesday in connection with alleged planned attacks at major events in Vienna, Austria, including Taylor Swift's upcoming concerts.

One of the men arrested by Austrian federal and state police was a 19-year-old  “with North Macedonian roots”  who allegedly pledged his allegiance to ISIS, Vienna State Police Director Franz Ruf and Police Chief Gerhard Purstl said at a news conference on Wednesday.

Both suspects in a foiled plot to attack Taylor Swift shows in Vienna appeared to be inspired by the Islamic State group and al-Qaida, Austrian authorities said Thursday, and investigators found bomb-making materials at one of their homes. Officials said one of the two confessed to planning to “kill as many people as possible outside the concert venue.” 

Concert organizers said they stood behind their decision, saying they expected up to 65k  fans inside the stadium at each concert and as many as 30k onlookers outside, where authorities said the suspects planned to strike.

Neither suspect appeared to have a ticket to any of the shows.

I don't think their target are Taylor Swift fans, more like just looking for big crowds to do these things. Good thing they got arrested but so scary to think there are others planning to do another one in the Europe dates.
