The entirety of the era itself holds such a huge space in my heart. I had already come out when it was released, but this album helped me, for the first time ever, to genuinely feel proud and celebrate myself. That being said, The Edge of Glory (esp on the piano) is my all time favorite song. Marry the Night and Heavy Metal Lover are two of the fiercest songs I’ve ever heard. You & I (esp at the monster ball) is top tier Gaga. Government Hooker is pure c*nt. Hair has some of her best vocals and the belting on the bridge makes me cry almost every time. The scream and Gregorian choir in Bloody Mary are two of the best stems of her career. A no skips album. Government Hooker I mean, look at my username. I've never understood the mixed reception from the fanbase. This song is unique and absolutely delivers on all fronts. The verses are fun, the chorus never fails to give me chills and the beat is clever. Absolutely should have been a single. Risks are worth it. If the way this song went viral was anything to go by, people want to hear something different. The entire audience at the Born This Way Ball went wild when this was performed. 2. Schieβe 3. It almost feels like the artist acknowledges it’s not part of the main body of work. It’s a good song but psychology works in weird ways.
