Hopefully Hamas will release all the hostages now so the war could end. There’s no way forward after this.

And Hamas is still there, a leader dying barely matters to them, they will have a new one soon and the war continues.

Likely to see a strong retaliation by Hamas. Groups like Hamas when the head gets cut off have historically got increasingly violent & increasingly reckless.

The Hamas held hostages are at more risk now than they have been at any point since October 7th. They are the easiest revenge target now.

Has the potential to further provoke a response from Hezbollah given yesterday's bombing of Beirut. Although I doubt at this moment they'd push into the Farms/Golan Heights or even into Israel itself. Most likely just be increased rocket attacks.

Iran may respond in some form given the attack is on its soil. But as it doesn't appear to have targeted any Iranian of importance, any Iran response will be largely about saving face.

They would once Netanyahu agrees to one of the many brokered deals piling up like late bills, but instead he’s inflaming Iran and Lebanon tensions - wild.

Probably the beginning of WW3, also the fact that it was on Iranian lands will lead to Iran and Hazbullah basically attacking Israel that will lead to USA protecting Israel that will lead to Russia attacking Israel, and afterwards maybe Turkey will join the party and than the countries who are part of NATO will join and all europe+the middle east will burn in hell

This assassination is only putting them at risk, they are the easiest targets for revenge and most of them are most likely dead now, they woke up to their last day after surviving all those months.

It's the dumbest, most reckless, most "I'll show my big balls" move to assassinate a leader while still pretending negotiations about releasing the hostages.

This move only shows that Netanyahu never cared about the hostages.

I gotta agree on this one, the government in Israel don’t give a single fck about the hostages. Netanyhu only wants somekind of “victory” that he can give to his brainless voters so he can keep his place as the PM

Russia will never attack Israel or involve itself in the Middle East, as it is in a tense war with Ukraine.

Aye, but if this does spiral into all out conflict. Russia will very likely go on a renewed offensive in Ukraine to exploit NATO being caught between 2 conflicts. 

I'll be totally honest though, I very much doubt Iran's response will be anything more than saving face style posturing. They'll launch another rocket barrage towards Israel, Israel & its allies will intercept. And then they'll all just carry on as they were before. 

Iran may support a Hezbollah attack though, but won't directly involve itself.
