Scar97 1,571
I think everyone just needs to accept Celine was the main event, as she should be. No artist in the world could have created that particular moment. Gaga was essentially an opener but it’s still the effin olympics! 2
JustTea 4,701
Yea, Gaga was amazing as always, but everything else about this performance was a mess, especially camera work
Nathaniel Arven 1,636
It was everything. She was adorable, and really took her role wholeheartedly, I'm so proud of her and I think the GP liked it too.
Controversiaga 9,853
The song was awful and annoying. The camera work was tragic as well but given the location of the performance there is not much for camera to work with Gaga did an amazing job with what she was given Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”
Bronco 7,650
Honestly all of my issues with this performance have zero to do with anything within Gaga's control. This was just a weird opening ceremony. I struggled to find a narrative. So much of it felt under rehearsed - which is why camera angles will have been so iffy. I feel like because the plan was this massive open spectacle around the city it drastically limited how they could practice and finetune because it would have all leaked. And honestly, it not being confined to a singular space just kind of prevented any true atmospheric build up I feel like. Gaga did great. Vocals were brilliant. Performance hit all the marks it had to given it was a clear tribute to an iconic french performer. Yeah the piano was a random choice. But otherwise great. Not my personal type of music, but it was fun.

When you have Lady Gaga why to give her something that can do many many singers? Its campy i know n cabaret but God, her persona its beyond from that. I like this side of her on an old Hollywood event, or inside the jazz n piano, cause i understand her love to that niche. But in the public eye she stands out for her crazy weirdo, pioneer side. That light hearted, feather, girlish pink thing (like her met gala show too) for me, its not her number one power i thing.. Also i didn't like that they use her on the start in the day light. When the sun sets everything looked way better.. And then.. i saw that mechanical horse inside the river... With the silver costume we saw on the trailer (and all we thought it was her -it wasn't) And i was like.. "common man, you had ready a concert like this and you gave her to play the happy cabaret pink girl, really? It was a concept that screamed "Gaga!" Imagine if she was The Rider in all that River ride, and sang in that Joanne of Arc look an epic song in that epic moment n lights. The best moment of the night if you ask me. Any way. Where is LG7? 😁🤷🏻♂️ Stop saying they used her. Lol she was fing honored and proud to do this. And it was not an easy perf, probably harder thank what others did. Linus Gaga 8,079
I loved it but imagine if it was night time with lighting and she sang those high notes from la vie en rose Hit me a message and say hi !

Butters Stotch 5,364
The performance is being praised everywhere, stop complaining peeps. It's not the Grammys, it was in broad daylight and the cameraman was probably on a boat floating in the Seine river. The performance was amazing, the only ones complaining are Twitter LMs and angry Katycats. FIND YOUR FREEDOM IN THE MUSIC 6

This is just my experience of course, but I’ve been hearing positively about her all day today from people around the city. This morning I was waiting in line in a bakery and I spoke to a 90 years old lady about the Olympics. She told me she didn’t like this opening ceremony “except for that lady in the beginning with those feathers” ahah I sparked with joy and I said “Oh, Lady Gaga!” and she was like “yes yes yes she was very elegant”. I love these little moments where somebody praise Gaga from outside of the fans/stans world. 4
Mason 177
People are actually complaining about the performance? lol I had 3 straight male friends over watching with me and they all liked it. it's the Paris Olympics not the chromatica ball??? IDK what anyone was expecting. I thought it was great that she got to perform on such a large stage in front of the whole world

TAlx 61
Am I the only one that feels that some of her piano interventions feel rushed and not worth the effort of setting up a piano in the first place? This one here, then the one at the 2020's VMA also comes to mind, bet there are other similar instances. She runs to the piano, bangs the keys for half a minute, then gets up and abandons it for the rest of the performance. Besides that tho: great vocals & great stage presence. Like someone else said before me, she did the best she could with what she was offered.
