I read somewhere that some reliable French publication has hinted that Gaga will be doing a Moulin Rouge themed performance with 80 dancers, singing “Mon truc en plume” by Zizi Jeanmarie, from a metro station themed set in Ile-Saint-Louis.

According to this tweet France 2 confirmed Gaga for that performance. France 2 is a public channel so if they indeed announced it it's confirmed

Just don't come for her if she doesn't sing your favorite song.  She hasn't even confirmed anything yet.

 She looks happy and I'm sure she's super excited to perform. Just let the girl live her dreams and let her enjoy the moment

Gaga is opening, she does indeed the Moulin Rouge performance at Île-Saint-Louis. Céline closes at the Eiffel Tower.

Last I heard, she will perform both La Vie en rose and Mon truc en plumes.

YAS!  So many rumours have ended up being true this year, glad to see this one was verified. For everyone who loved her performance in the 2015 European Games in Baku, I'm sure this one will be next level, in scope if nothing else. The viewership of the Olympics could ensure this is one of her biggest viewed and liked live performances ever. I'm sure it will be a cover of a well-known French song (please let it be La Vie En Rose), possibly even a duet (please let it be Celine). Seeing as this is an international event being held in France, it's about representation of the host country and usually features said country's nationals, so we can feel extremely honoured that Gaga was asked to take part but it does mean we can forget all notions of it being a new song. But let's not pretend this isn't a huge promo opportunity that she can springboard off of. This may well be a drip drip approach to her eventual comeback, similar to how she started to make a big comeback when did The Sound of Music medley. I'm already excited for this opening ceremony, this is going to make it even more exciting.
