A vote is a manifestation... if you all want to continue supporting the two sides (blue/red) of the oligarchy coin that controls US politics.. then go ahead. You all think my vote is worth nothing, to me my vote is a manifestation for a future of peace and rooting out corruption in our politics. Obviously the Green Party is not going to win, but at least the blood of the genocide won't be on my hands like it is on all of yours supporting Kamala

So if you vote for someone who can't win, and the worse of 2 bad options get in.

How are you absolved of responsibility?

Out of curiosity- what activism do you take part in? Excluding posting things on social media. How do you actively promote and build the future peace you want?

I protested for both BLM and Free Palestine, do awareness raising within my social circles, I work in substance use recovery and work with homeless populations with outreach to connect people with healthcare, housing, and job resources. I am writing an album where change and peace is the main message.

I do not find myself "responsible" for anyone winning because if we live in a democracy, whoever gets the most votes is the will of the people. If 45% vote Trump, 40% vote Kamala, and 15% want someone else.. well then most of the country wants Trump. If Democrats want to win they need to do better.

I am not going to compromise my values because people on the internet are calling me stupid and think LGBT people in red state's lives are more important than literally everyone in Palestine getting bombed, all of their hospitals and universities destroyed, bloodlines wiped out. Funded by mine and your tax money, while people in America are homeless hungry and dying.

We need a regime change in America that is not funded by billionaires lobbying for their own interests.

It's easy for you all to see me on Gaga Daily and think I'm radical and uneducated, but the reality is there are a lot of people who feel the same way whose opinions on politics and the future of this country are just as valid as mine and yours.

Also, project 2025 is going to happen no matter what. In red states, in 2029, they are always going to be pushing that agenda and always have. We cannot keep the poor status quo because we are scared of what the republicans have always wanted to do

Politics is not about “manifesting,” it’s about strategy and organization. Call me back when the Green Party wins a single seat in Congress or a gubernatorial election, then we can talk about the presidency.

We have forgotten our public MANNERS

Head, not so much.

Project 2025 IS avoidable.

Voting third party in 2024 is not the way to avoid it, though.

Shadow

Congrats to VP Kamala Harris if she can clinch the DNC delegates and nomination.

Polls will matter more going into September.

She needs to campaign in Pennsylvania and other swing states to win those electors to get over 270.

https://www.270towin.com/

"During the general election your vote helps determine your State’s electors.  When you vote for a Presidential candidate, you aren’t actually voting for President.  You are telling your State which candidate you want your State to vote for at the meeting of electors. The States use these general election results (also known as the popular vote) to appoint their electors. The winning candidate’s State political party selects the individuals who will be electors."

Exactly this. Let’s see how much they enjoy life with Trump, losing rights and when Trumps nukes Gaza.

This is quite the gamble - most Democrats see the party nominating someone with zero votes is… well not great.

Yes, 0 votes, it's wholly undemocratic, the primaries are now null and void and they don't want to repeat them...:wtf:

81 Million Americans voted for Kamala Harris to be next in line in case something happened to Biden, aka to be the backup President. The party is just nominating the person next in line now that something HAS happened to Biden, and he's dropped out the race.

No, they agreed to Biden serving a second term as president for at least a fraction of time - commencing with his inauguration - and Harris serving a second term as Vice President for at least a fraction of time - commencing with her inauguration -, and gave their permission that Vice President Harris will take over the REMAINDER (!!!) term of the president, if the president drops out of office, which requires Harris to be sworn Vice President during her second term in first place, and equally requires Biden to be sworn second term president for at least a second!

That was the deal. None of this is the case now (!). Biden will never be a second term president after that he gave up now and Harris will not be sworn in as vice president. The entire Dems primaries this year are therefore null and void and Harris is about to be elected undemocratically as pres. cand., unless primaries will be repeated.

Those 81 million Americans never agreed to Kamala running for president or becoming full term president, they agreed to let her replace President Biden when he will be president for a second term. The formalia clearly are that Biden must be president first and Harris Vice President first. In no way can the 81 million votes automatically be attributed to her running as president.

The way the Democrats literally bypassed democracy for this... and expect us to support them 💀 no thanks

Yes, that was 0 democratic.

We quite literally voted for Kamala to be Joe's backup and thus, she is.

Nobody "bypassed democracy" lol. It'd be infeasible to have a rushed primary a month before the DNC when we've already voted for Kamala.

Look, if you voted in the 2019/2020 primaries for Biden-Harris and let's hypothetically assume Biden stepped back THIS current term and Harris became president NOW, that would be perfectly democratic because Harris has been sworn Vice Pres before for at least a second during her term in office and Biden was Pres for at least a second directly after his inauguration - and all 2020 Dem primaries voters gave their conscent to this.

You voted this year formally and legally for Joe to be president (if you did?) and Harris to be Vice president and gave your permission that Kamala can replace him during his second term.

You never voted for Biden not being president never at all during his second term, none of us ever did. The Biden-Harris ballot legally involves both Biden and Harris to have served as president and vice president for at least a moment. They have to be there on inauguration day in their positions as described during the primaries. None of us voted for a Harris-as-president-unknown-other-vice-president constellation commening with inauguration. Harris technically is Joe's backup for THIS current term, but not for the next term as the conditions of the primaries are severely violated and not exisiting anymore. Because Joe won't be there at all anymore, and Harris won't be sown Vice Pres.

The lack of time may explain why there are no repeated primaries, but it does not justify the absence of this heavily important democratic element.

They know very well what they are talking about. They bypassed democracy. And it is not without reason they are talking about repeating primaries now and coming weeks.

Ma'am there was never a democratic element to begin with. Delegates aren't even always obligated to back the nominee the voters choose but this time they absolutely are.

Sorry, but y'all are just incorrect here :laughga:

The voters picked her as Biden's backup, they were on the same ticket. Biden's out, she's in.

It's so super simple.

Some of y'all need to understand a political party picking their candidate is an entirely different process than voters electing an official to a position.

Hell, no two parties pick their candidates the same way in this country.

That's one reason why we're a "rEpReSeNtAtIvE rEpUbLiC", not a democracy.

No, because Harris is only automatically entitled to replace Biden if he has been elected second term president before and she elected Vice President for her second term, and if this isn't the case, the position is open to anyone [again] (and therefore , I think primaries should be repeated). This is impossible for the next term, as Biden is not gonna be pres anymore. [It is possible for this term] Therefore, she cannot claim any votes from the 81 million as "hers", as she won't be Vice Pres on inauguration day or Vice Pres elect after November, as supposed to be according to the primaries rules.

She cannot directly jump from Vice Pres Cand. to Pres. Cand. (before election day) without primaries being repeated. But I agree, that we have to distinguish.

"The Democratic National Committee’s official procedures for the convention, adopted in 2022, give the committee the authority to choose a new candidate if either member of the ticket — the presidential or vice-presidential nominee — withdraws or dies."

https://www.nytimes.com/article/replace-biden.html

What I wanted to say is that before pres. election day, that the Vice Pres does not automatically follow up to the Pres. The DNC can choose whoever they want to choose in this case, it can be anyone over 35 years old. Only after election day, Harris is entitled to automatically follow up Pres if Biden resigns. Before that, the Vice Pres is not a default successor.  If they do it without local people voting for it again, it kinda lacks deomcratic elements, imo.

The Biden(P)-Harris(VP) ticket is not even exisiting anymore, it is now Harris(P)-someonelse(not  Biden)(VP). The conditions of the primaries are violated and should be repeated if they are supposed to be democratic.
