Everyone who was nominated is also an industry fave or legend outside of maybe Nikki Glaser, but this category tends to lean pretty heavily towards comedy specials. I guess that HBO just didn't choose to campaign TCB, perhaps they wanted to focus on other categories, or perhaps it just wasn't a priority due to the tour taking place such a long time ago? Unless there's still something to be said for the categories still to be announced that include directing? Maybe it was just too niche and didn't have a big campaign? She really pushed herself as well, getting herself on all the credits. An award is sure to come one day, probably when she's least expecting it. The ultimate focus in Oscars and Grammys right now. But you'd still think someone of her clout would've effortlessly glided into this category or have won something by now. They say an Emmy's the easiest one to win, right?
