It's surprising people are having this interpretation of Biden over there only now. Outside the U.S Biden is seen as old, incompetent and with a case of dementia kicking in. Even by leftists and people who hate Trump. I was actually surprised to learn he was going to try reelection. For some time now I've been thinking "where is the dem candidate for this year?"

They're not going to replace Biden and it would be insane for them to do so imo. As much as I don't like the fact that he's the Democratic nominee, unless you had a Democratic candidate that everyone likes (which is impossible), it's too late in the game to think of replacing Biden. If they wanted to, they could've (and honestly probably should've) done it earlier. The election is only a few months away and Dems have campaigned for Biden far too much for them to shift gears and endorse someone else suddenly.

Have they made deals to do more debates? Because this should be their one and only debate if they don't want Biden to look (even more) awful.

Yeah, I think American legacy media has been in denial about this for a long time. I felt this way about Biden 4 years ago and had always hoped he would graciously bow out of a re-election campaign and I share your shock that it took some people this long to realize that

Idk if CNN, Biden’s biggest cheerleaders, are floating it, folks in the upper echelon of the DNC appear to at least be considering it. But that being said, I completely agree that they should’ve made this pivot much earlier if they have any real intention of replacing, but I feel like they were afraid of having him come across like a lame duck for the remainder of his first term.

Well, that was awful. If we were intelligent, Biden would have been considered the winner because he actually spoke on most of the issues and got his licks in for an old man through a cold apparently. 

But our collective rotted brains will call it in Trump's favor because he lied, projected, and attacked confidently. Even if the only thing he could focus on was that "illegals" are supervillains at fault for literally everything bad in our country. 

The fact that the Democrat leaning CNN isn't even trying to spin it favorably for Biden is crazy. We're so cooked. I think at this point we're losing our country. Lemme go get some snacks or hard drugs or a n**se or something to dull the pain.

I don’t think it was denial but a fear of backlash from the older people in the US. Who watches cable tv? Older people. Do you want to risk angering your audience? Same with the political machine as a whole. What voting body for sure shows up at the polls? Older people. That’s my 2 cents anyway. Now that they have a poor showing from Biden they have a legitimate excuse to ask the hard questions they felt like they couldn’t before.
