Christ almighty, I watched a few clips of the debate. One can't string a sentence together and the other is a compulsive liar. I feel sorry for you guys, I thought the UK had it bad :icant:

usually the incumbent always goes for the second term, its rare that they dont and he did win in 2020, but i agree they shouldve chosen someone else - **** literally anyone else

But that's the thing.... They're still stuck in the civil days of respectable politics.  Things have changed and now we have a population which votes with their emotions rather than their logic.  They needed to put forth someone who could appeal to both logic AND emotion, someone with charisma..... I'm sorry but they have way too much faith in the American people

if the dems had anyone else against trump i think we would win, but perception is everything and this debate was terrible for biden. even people like hasan piker and so many liberal commentators are saying bidens performance was the worst weve ever seen. im hoping ppl forget about this since its a few months away, but i think the damage is done and were just gonna have to accept that trump the criminal is going to be our president. makes me sick that someone with criminal charges is even allowed to run . trump has so much political baggage but all this shows us is that he was right when he said his voters would still support him NO MATTER WHAT HE DID. i also have zero respect for the republicans not even trying to get someone else as their nominee - jan 6th, the 34 charges, all his negative rhetoric, roe v wade being overturned. this man has caused so much damage and its scary half the country still wants him to wreak havoc. also mad biden didnt really do much to improve our lives overall - so its the lefts fault as well for running establishment candidates who dont stray from the status quo

The New York Times, The Atlantic, The Hill, Vox, etc have all published opinion pieces calling for Biden to remove himself from the race. Every major news source has some reiteration of Biden being replaced. My guess is that Biden’s team will try to ignore it all but damage has certainly been done.

they need to replace him with NEWSOM

They absolutely do not. As poor as I think Biden's chances are at the moment, Newsom would do far, far worse. He isn't even all that popular in the liberal safe haven of California. He'd be destroyed on the national stage. He's just the liberal version of Ron DeSantis: Someone who can wield a lot of influence and attract eyes in his home state but would flounder big time on the national stage.

My God, that was disastrous. I just watched the whole thing. I like to think of myself as a let's-take-a-step-back, don't-panic, non-knee-jerk type of guy ..... but  ... that was appalling from Biden. If I was an uncommitted US voter, someone who doesn't usually take much interest and is just starting to tune in to election year now, I think I'd be voting Trump after that. Biden is 81, but that's not the problem. The problem is that he's an old 81, he's feeble. Bernie Sanders is a year older and he would wipe the floor with either Biden or Trump.

If dem really replace Biden, Trump will for sure win instead of ''maybe''. President is only small part of governing a country, the point is holding your ground and keeping your promises. If they replace him now, the party will be seen as indecisive and aimless.

well, Biden's team secretly expercted him to perform badly that's why we got this very early TV date, because Biden's team counts on people forgetting it by the time there will be elections. This says very much about their faith into Biden :wtf:

Biden's voice was powerless and sounded like retirement's home garden tools explainments.

Contrary to what people say, I don't think that Biden was that disastrous, he got his points across and answered everything sufficiently but Trump was more dominating, more assertive, sovereign and confident and the night's winner.

I'd like Biden to be exchanged with Bernie Sanders but I guess it is too late by now just as it is unlikely that Britney Spears will release a new album anytimme soon.

The Democrats will have to blame themselves if Trumps becomes 2nd term president.

News outlets too :toofunny: CNN, ABC, MSNBC are agreed it was a track-wreck and entertained the idea of replacing Biden. I checked CBC and BBC on the world dish and got a similar sentiment that it was a horrible debate for Biden and Americans should be extremely nervous. I checked the Arabic news channels and some commentators were rightfully dragging Trump for using Palestinian as a slur, but then went back to point out that Biden acted like someone with middle-to-late-stage dementia. My boyfriend checked the Portuguese news outlets and they were embarrassed for Americans. BBC is writing articles about how Dems should be panicking after that disaster of a performance. Hell, the English NHK network from Japan had a segment with concern about Biden. At this point, it's an international condemnation, not that they think Trump is better, but that Biden is clearly in no state to be at the forefront of the most political election cycle of our lifetime. This debate (and upcoming election) should have been an easy victory for him, but it was the opposite.

I feel like a lot of the pro-Biden people are underreacting to just how bad all of this looks and how the average American voter is stupid and will see this debate as evidence to reconsider voting for Trump. There's so many egos in that group that they will never rescind, but it's very telling that the global community is freaking out because it was so bad. My parents, who never miss debates, went to bed early because they said it was a nightmare. It's THAT bad.
