ARIANA GRANDE SURPRISE RELEASES HER NEW SINGLE - THE BOY IS MINE (JUNE 5, 2024)

Billboard-logo-magazine.jpg

Arianators rejoice! Ariana has dropped her new single by surprise! The singer had teased the release of new music previously in the week, but had left the timing up in the air as she seemed to attempt to leave fans as confused and therefore surprised as possible. The single, The Boy Is Mine, isn't a cover of Monica and Brandy's 1998 smash of the same name, but rather a "reincarnation" as fans have put it on X (formerly Twitter). The single seems to be a massive insight into her feelings for Ethan Slater - whom she started dating in a whirlwind romance last summer that was shrouded in controversy and discussion. The bass-heavy song seems to be an ode to 1990s R&B, a genre Ariana is very familiar and comfortable with. There's a feeling of Y2K power-pop too, which makes sense given Ari's new smash is produced and composed with one of the spearheaders of that nostalgic sound: Max Martin. Ari and Max are longtime collaborators, he produced hits of hers like Problem, Into You, and No Tears Left to Cry. Fans are rabid over the new single and we are too! Take a listen for yourself below and check out the single's official cover art! Ariana has yet to share details on the single's parent album.

ARIANA GRANDE POPS UP AT BBC RADIO 1 FOLLOWING SURPRISE DROP OF NEW SINGLE (JUNE 5, 2024)

1200px-BBC_Radio_1_2021.svg.png

Global pop sensation Ariana Grande left fans reeling with excitement as she made a surprise guest appearance on BBC Radio 1 yesterday. The Grammy-winning artist dropped by the station to discuss her latest single, "The Boy is Mine," much to the delight of her devoted fanbase. The single had previously appeared on digital and streaming outlets with no prior announcement or acknowledgement from Ari herself - until now. During her appearance on Radio 1, Grande shared insights into the inspiration behind "The Boy is Mine" and the creative process involved in bringing the song to life. Fans were treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the track, gaining valuable insight into Grande's artistic vision. As news of Grande's surprise visit spread like wildfire on social media, fans took to Twitter to express their excitement and admiration for the chart-topping artist. The hashtag #TheBoyIsMine quickly trended worldwide as fans shared their thoughts and reactions to the new single. Read excerpts from the interview below:

BBC Radio 1 Host: Good morning, listeners! Today, we have a very special guest joining us in the studio, the one and only Ariana Grande! Ari, thank you so much for being here with us.

Ariana Grande: Hey, thank you for having me! I'm so excited to be here.

BBC Radio 1 Host: Now, Ariana, the internet has been buzzing with excitement since you surprise dropped your new single, "The Boy is Mine." Can you tell us a little bit about the inspiration behind this song?

Ariana Grande: The song is.....me playing a role that I think the media expects to see me fit into - or already has put me into. I guess not just the media but people in general. I think without me going into too much detail about that role, cause you can listen to the song, you all know what role I'm playing here. And last summer I did feel painted in that way, but that isn't me at all. You can hear the real me shining through in the verses, but in the chorus I'm pretty direct.

BBC Radio 1 Host: It seems theres an element of empowerment and saying "I dont care, this is what I want" as well.

Ariana Grande: Definitely! You could say empowerment and owning your worth. Reclaiming your confidence and not letting anyone else define your value or choices. I wanted to create something that was both empowering and fun in the face of scrutiny, and I think this song really captures that energy.

BBC Radio 1 Host: I would agree! The surprise drop caught everyone off guard, I was actually getting messages way early this morning giving me a heads up that things would be changing in here today as far as plans, and it is most definitely a welcome change. What made you decide to release the song this way?

Ariana Grande: Well, I've always loved the element of surprise when it comes to releasing new music. There's something really special about dropping a song out of the blue and seeing people's reactions in real time. I wanted to give my fans something unexpected and exciting, and I think the surprise drop was the perfect way to do that.

BBC Radio 1 Host: And speaking of your fans, they have been absolutely loving the new single. What has the reaction been like for you?

Ariana Grande: It's been incredible! The response from my fans has been overwhelmingly positive, and I'm so grateful for all the love and support they've shown me. It's always nerve-wracking putting new music out into the world, but seeing how much people are connecting with this song makes it all worth it.

BBC Radio 1 Host: Well, we absolutely love the new single, and we can't wait to hear what else you have in store for us. Any hints about what's next for Ariana Grande?

Ariana Grande: Hmm, well, I don't want to give too much away just yet, but I've been working on a lot of new music that I'm really excited about. I think my fans are going to love what's coming next, there IS an album, so stay tuned!

The BBC host and Ariana had some lighthearted discussion about her love for the UK as well, with Ari sharing that she does like honey with her tea, but absolutely no milk of ANY type! Her favorite landmark is the Great Clock, as she feels it looks like something out of a fairy tale.

ARIANA GRANDE VISITS 95.8 CAPITAL FM IN LONDON TO DISCUSS HER NEW SINGLE (JUNE 5, 2024)

1200px-Capital_London_2022.svg.png

Ariana Grande has been taking the UK by storm. After showing up on the streets of London by surprise earlier this week, she surprise dropped her newest single, "The Boy Is Mine". After visiting BBC Radio 1 to discuss the release of the single, she sat down with 95.8 Capital FM London for an interview with the iconic radio station, known for hosting some of the biggest names in music. During the interview, Grande opened up about her creative process, shedding light on the inspiration behind her music and the evolution of her sound. But it wasn't all serious talk. Grande's infectious laughter filled the studio as she shared amusing anecdotes and playful banter with the hosts, demonstrating her down-to-earth nature despite her global fame. From discussing her favorite London spots to indulging in a spot of British humor, Grande effortlessly endeared herself to listeners, solidifying her status as not just a superstar, but also a relatable and approachable figure. Read some excerpts from the interview below:

Host: Welcome back to Capital FM London! Today, we have a very special guest with us, the one and only Ariana Grande! Ariana, welcome to the show!

Ariana: Thank you so much for having me! I'm thrilled to be here.

Host: We're absolutely delighted to have you. Now, Ariana, your new single "The Boy Is Mine" is making waves all over the world. It's got this amazing 90s vibe to it. Can you tell us a bit about what inspired you to go for that sound?

Ariana: Well, first of all, thank you for the kind words! I've always been a huge fan of 90s music. Growing up, I was surrounded by it, thanks to my family. Artists like Mariah, Whitney, Sade, Monica, and Brandy were constantly playing in my brother's room. So, when it came to creating this new single, I wanted to pay homage to that era that I and he love so much.

Host: That's fantastic! And you've really captured that essence perfectly in "The Boy Is Mine." What was the creative process like for you when you were working on this song?

Ariana: I love working with Max and Ilya and anytime we get together I just feel confident and comfortable. "Bad bitch" energy I call it. There is a large group of my fans that really do love a bad girl anthem, and this is an elevated version of that. I kinda started humming the chorus melody and Max picked up on it and it built from there, that's why the song starts off with that melody, well not the chorus but the hook. *Sings the pre-chorus of TBIM*. We almost gave up on the song though because I didn't want it to be misconstrued, but its always going to be anyway right? *laughs*

Host: Thank god you didn't give up on it because it's addicting, its boppy, and its a banger! Can we expect any more bangers coming anytime soon?

Ariana: Well, first and foremost, I want to thank my fans for their incredible support with this song already. I wouldn't be here without them, and I'm so grateful for their love and loyalty. As for upcoming projects and more "bangers", there's definitely a lot in the works, but I can't say too much just yet. Just know that I'm always working hard to bring you all new music and experiences and yes, those are coming. I just have other ways that I want to share it first!

Host: We understand!

During the interview, Ari also shared her love for the UK and revealed a funny story about meeting fans earlier this week. We will definitely be tuning into whatever Ari has coming up next music wise

ARIANA GRANDE CONTINUES RADIO TOUR, VISITS CAPITAL FM MANCHESTER/LANCASHIRE (JUNE 5, 2024)

2880px-Capital_Manchester_2022.svg.png

Ariana Grande has been taking the UK by storm this week, making the country her residence during the surprise drop and initial campaign for her newest single: "The Boy Is Mine". While Ariana is in London and did not make the trek to Manchester, she did make sure to give them a call to tell them a little about the single and her deeply bonded relationship with the city. In 2017, Ariana's concert in Manchester was terrorized via a senseless bombing that took away 22 lives.

[Interviewer]: Welcome back to Capital FM Manchester, where we've got the incredible Ariana Grande on the studio phone with us today! Ariana, it's so great to have you, can you hear us?

[Ariana Grande]: I can hear you! Thank you so much for having me, I wish I could see you all in person, but they're holding me prisoner in London! *laughs*

[Interviewer]: We'll come and get you! So, Ariana, we've heard you have a special place in your heart for the UK. What is it about this country that resonates with you so much?

[Ariana Grande]: Oh, where do I even begin? The UK has always been so supportive of my music, and the fans here are just amazing. There's such a rich history of music here, and I feel incredibly inspired every time I visit. Plus, I've made some incredible memories here, so it's definitely like a second home to me.

[Interviewer]: Now we know you've discussed the terrible events in 2017 that happened here in Manchester and we couldn't applaud you enough always for your reaction to that back in the day with the One Love concert and coming back to perform fearlessly, we feel bonded to you, do you feel bonded to us?

[Ariana]: 100%. I love London but I'm gutted that I can't make it to Manchester this trip. You guys loved me even when I didn't want yall to or didn't understand how you could when I felt so responsible and scared. And thats it, you said I performed fearlessly, but I didn't. I wanted to appear strong and brave because you all were coming back out in the light despite the family members you all lost and I couldn't be more grateful. You all made me fearless if I seemed that way.

[Interviewer]: Well we love you Ari! On another note.....we've been loving your latest single, "The Boy is Mine." Can you tell us a bit about the inspiration behind that song?

[Ariana]: Absolutely! You could say it's me playing a role that people expect me to fit into - or one that they think they've correctly labelled me as. I won't say what role is directly but I think y'all know. But the last year or so has been hard, going through relationships in the public yanno? I think it was time for some empowerment and owning your choices and feelings. There's the "bad bitch" energy there too, which can be seen as act as well - part of the role I'm playing.

[Interviewer]: It's definitely a powerful message, and we can't wait to see if there's a music video! Can you give us any hints about what we can expect?

[Ariana]: There is a video! I wanna keep the element of surprise going with this release and era, so I won't tell you when it's coming, but probably sooner than you think! Without giving too much away, I can tell you that we really wanted to capture the energy and vibe of the song. It's got a bit of a retro feel to it, with some fun nods to classic pop culture moments. And of course, there's plenty of dancing and there might be a few familiar faces making an appearance. You'll just have to wait and see!

[Interview]: And wait we will, but excitedly! Any more plans or appearances for your time left in the UK?

[Ariana]: Yes actually! It's probably a good time to tell my fans to tune into Good Morning Britain tomorrow (Thursday) and then Graham Norton on Friday! I'll be debuting the live version of the song on Graham Norton! I can't wait to continue this era and keep sharing what we've been planning!

[Interview]: One last question cause they're giving me the "wrap it up" sign - where is the album? *laughs*

[Ariana]: I get asked this five times a day....at least! *laughs* The album is in my brain at this point, locked away, you'll never hear it. Im kidding, im kidding, It's coming, don't worry! I want to keep surprising you, remember?

52792a68272203.5b574a98aafbd.jpg

In the wee hours of the morning, amidst the fluttering excitement of early risers, Ariana Grande, the pop sensation with a voice that could melt hearts, graced the set of Good Morning Britain. With her trademark ponytail swaying and an aura of effortless elegance, Grande captivated audiences not just with her music but with her candid revelations about her morning rituals, her latest single, and her foray into the world of beauty.

As the cameras rolled and the hosts leaned in with curiosity, Grande shared insights into her morning routine, a routine that’s not just about waking up but about embracing the day with purpose. "I start my day with a good cup of coffee and some meditation," she revealed with a serene smile. "It’s important to set the tone for the day, you know, find that inner balance before diving into the chaos."

But amidst the calm, there's always a storm of creativity brewing within Grande. With a twinkle in her eye, she unveiled her latest musical endeavor, "The Boy Is Mine," a single that promises to be a melodic manifesto of empowerment and self-discovery. "This song is really personal to me," she shared, her voice tinged with excitement. "It’s about reclaiming your power, standing tall in the face of adversity, and speaking up for what you want, even if that involves exaggerating and playing a role that you wouldn't normally see yourself in".

And while music may be her first love, Grande’s passion knows no bounds. With a graceful segue, she discussed R.E.M. Beauty, a venture born out of her love for self-expression and her desire to empower others to feel confident in their own skin. "I wanted to create something that celebrates individuality," she explained, her eyes gleaming with determination. "Beauty is not about conforming to standards; it’s about embracing your uniqueness and letting your inner light shine."

With her infectious energy and unwavering commitment to authenticity, Grande left an indelible mark on the set of Good Morning Britain. From her morning rituals to her musical musings and entrepreneurial endeavors, she proved once again that she's not just a pop icon but a force to be reckoned with—a beacon of strength, resilience, and unapologetic self-expression in a world that often demands conformity.

As the segment drew to a close and the hosts bid farewell to their radiant guest, one thing became abundantly clear: Ariana Grande is more than just a singer, she’s a symbol of empowerment, a reminder to embrace every facet of who we are, and a testament to the power of staying true to oneself in a world that’s constantly changing. And as her music continues to resonate with millions around the globe, one thing's for certain—this is only the beginning of Grande's journey to inspire, uplift, and empower us all.
