And one of the two described has made the most amount of progress in American politics of any president in 50 years. Not to mention being the biggest driver and advocate for the LGBT community of anyone prior as vice and then as president. It’s documented that he was the person pushing to overturn DADT and being pro-gay marriage in the Obama administration then as president issuing executive orders protecting LGBT people from discrimination. As well as having the first openly gay man in a cabinet level position.

As sad as this sounds, best case scenario:

•Biden wins 

•he bows out gracefully soon after, having more respect for this country than Ruth Bader Ginsburg did (neglecting her chance to do the right thing)

•and Harris steps in, making herstory.

Bottom line:

Vote for Biden. Do not vote for Trump. Do not sit out this election.

I would rather the first female president be elected to, not given, the position. Biden's perfectly capable of serving a second term.

I was speaking more to this person’s mindset about both men’s “dementia” reputation, and that not being a fair reason to write Biden off, because Harris IS there as backup, by definition of her job title, if it helps motivate him to vote.

•At no point did *I* say that Biden had dementia, or that I believed he did.

•I wanted Clinton to win in 16, and I too would prefer an *elected* female president over a female president by default. But Clinton did not win, and Harris is the current Vice President.

•Biden is more than capable of serving a second term, but some of his behavior clearly makes people nervous (that is not me being judgmental, that is me being objective about what other people say en masse)

•People who give oxygen to the “dementia” thing are not being funny, they are actively threatening democracy by potentially swaying malleable idiots away from voting for Biden this year

•if said idiots need a reason to get over that “dementia” thing and vote for him, they can find comfort in the fact that his VP, Kamala Harris, is capable of being President as well

•Literally anyone is better suited to be President of the United States of America than Donald Trump
